I am a new member, and with the economy the way it is, I think the previous questions about how much it would cost the member is a fair one. It also seems fair because of ads, even on this site that say you can get something free, but you end up having to get something from a different party, and put up with phone calls from those who you say you are just interested in their product.

How much do we have to pay? You're probably MAKING MONEY by charging more than what you bought the prizes for. --mfoelsch MO

I find it interesting it says, "Enter everyday! now...through November 30, 2008." but also says "Entries must be received between 10/1/08 and 10/31/08. Drawing date: On or about 11/5/08." Hmmm....

How about a response to these concerns of your members?. If no response or concern I believe we can make our judgment.

I have never won anything in my life for free, but if these contest are what they say they are, then I hope I do win, for the magazine and contests are great. health problems stop me from doing a lot of things, but I still enjoy NAFC and their products.

I really do not have a problem paying a few dollars for something I've won. I do have a problem when I went to the "get free gear" portion of the give a way and could not find a single item that even remotely had anything to do with fishing! Why would I need to fullfil any of these meaningless offers that have 0% interest for me? At least you could offer items that FISHERPERSONS would be of great interest.

Redcrawfish86 Location:Clearwater,FL. New Member2009 Posted: 4/1/09 I am an 8th Generation Floridian and primarily a Saltwater Fisherman. Thanks for the article. It was very informative. I have never won anything because I have never entered for any give aways.I am enjoying North American Fisherman and could really use a YetiCooler to hold my catches, like Spotted Seatrout, Pompano. Snook, and Redfgish.

I just won the Hummingbird 798cSI Sonar/GPS Combo. It lists for $1249.00 and the only thing I have to pay is the prize taxes on anything over 600.00. I was skeptical about these contests too but they are on the up and up. I've been a life member since 1993 and have had no problems with the club and enjoy it very very much. Most of the things you are asking about can be found right here on the club site, just do the research. Check the forums too, there are answers to a lot of these questions in there.

I got a few free banjo minnows that was nice. But I put one on and it kept sailing, that was bogus.
