I'm thinking a state park? Any ideas? We might as well get it started now.

Check out the LBL area. It is a 170,000 acre wilderness area.  Unfortunatley, it is about as far west, as you can go in Kentucky.  It does have a lot going for it though.  It has 2 of the best fishing lakes, in western Kentucky.  In the spring, and fall, the crappie fishing is some of the best.  Bass fishing, can be good any time of of year.  On the north end of the LBL, there are marinas, and motels.  There is camping available throughout the LBL.  Most are wilderness camps.  That can be used for up to 2 weeks.  Near the north end, more modern camping is available.  There is a large gazeebo, at the power plant, below the dam.  I think it has about 8 picnic tables.  And 3, or 4 grills.  The gazeebo, would make a good meeting place.  There are several boat launching sights in the LBL. And a launch ramp about a quarter mile below the gazeebo.  Plus a luanch ramp above the dam, on Lake Barkley.  From there, one can fish both lakes.  There is a channel, a couple miles up the lake, that conects it to Kentucky lake.  Even though I think it is a good place.  It is probably to far, for most members.  It seems like most members, are from the center, towards the east, of the state.  It is worth checking out though.  Just go to, Land Between the Lakes Kenucky.  There is all kinds of info there.

Thanks for the input Sam. I think if we all plan well in advance the location shouldn't be much of an issue. You wouldn't happen to have a link for there by chance, do you?

When in 2010 you planning this? We should be moved into our new place in Braken County in June 2010. About 5 or 6 miles south east of Augusta. Hope there is some good fishin waters around that area.

Happy to hear everything is ready to go Jim. It will be great to have another Ky member with us. The meet is still in the very early planning stages. Everyone has the chance to add input and ideas, and we all will decide the specifics around the first of the year, hopefully. If I had to guess, I'd say the meet will be sometime after your move.

So far, I agree with Sam. I have been checking out the links, and I think the Hillman Ferry campground sounds like a great place. Any suggestions from anyone? Places, dates, activities, etc...?

Regardless of where it is, there should be boat rental for those of us without.

I agree Jerry. I personally do not own a boat, and a rental would be great.
