Got my lead pot and jig making stuff yesterday from cabelas,Love this stuff melted a bunch of lead down last nite into bars so now i can start making jigs, now my ??? what size jigs work best for walleyes and pike i been buying all mine up till now and my mold has all the different sizes i used 1/4 oz store bought this yr is bigger any better BILL Life Member Since 09-01-09

Cool, 1/8 is always a good starting point and 1/4 are always needed. Make some smaller ones and bigger ones for those times when you need them.

You should look into Jann's Netcraft and Lurecraft those are two good tackle craft catalogs to check into.

Bill: I have been making all of my jigs for a couple of years now. The biggest mold I have is for 1/8 oz. I'm thinking of going up to 1/4 oz, I wouldn't go any larger for eyes. If you are going to paint, I reccomend the Pro-Tec powder paint. It's easy to use and holds up well. Nice selection of colors too. If you try the glow be sure and put a coat of white underneath or it will be almost black in the daylight. The basecoat gives a nice light green, yellow might get you chartreuse. Well i poured some 3/8 oz jigs yesterday and doing them up in black hope my other hooks come today so i can do some other sizes BILL Life Member Since 09-01-09
