I would like to say nice job on the most recent issue. thanks for including an article on fly fishing. the article called unnatural selection was informative and can be applies by both fluff chuckers and conventional tackle. it would be nice to see more of this type of article in the future. how about a fly of the month(or should I say issue)including recipe and step by step.

when i enter any of the contest i get a thank you page that tells me now i can go to about 3 different pages- every time i use thisroute i get a message saying access denied you do not have authority to access- this does not compute, i`ve just logged in to enter the contest-no big deal but why have this on the thank you page if it doesn`t work

The Opening Shot

Partially for the sake of variety and also to express my satisfaction with this month's magazine, I would like to say that the Opening Shot section in this month's issue is an awesome addition. I know it's not brand new, but looking at the last couple back issues I've only seen it one other time. Either way, good move including it. And the rare fly fishing article is a nice change of pace too. Well done magazine this month, though it is a little thin, there's a lot in here.

I started my entry for the fish photo contest but soon discovered that I had to sign up for another email service. I will not change my email server from Yahoo and don't want to have more than one email account. You need to make entering more simple.

I have been a member for 15 years, and like many other members, I eagerly await each magazine issue... then read it cover-to-cover when it arrives. After that, I'll re-read it several times, including all my back issues. Over the years, I have become more and more disappointed in the frequency and thickness of the magazine. New members, we used to get 12 full magazines a year!

When the Jan/Feb 2013 issue arrived, imagine my further disappointment in reading material that I had already read. There is a question from "Member Greg Sorvari" in the Fishing Q&A on pg18 that was word-for-word "recycled" from the Feb 2010 issue (check it out in the Fishing Q&A on p20 of that issue). What an incredible waste of my money! I understand that we have a new editor that this could have easily slipped past, but seriously... is there just not enough fresh material to fill the pages?

SO just what is going on here? How many other things are being recycled into our fewer & smaller magazines? If I am to read the same articles over and over, I'd like to do it because I want to... not because that's all there is.

field tester

I have been an active life member for 3or 4 years and and I have been trying to become a field tester. I submitted the form a few different times and then waited for a while. I was doing some clean up in the house today (june 6) and I found and envelope from fishing club dated March 26. My wife probably saw it and figured it was nothing. At any rate This envlope contained a few fishing hooks. I waited for quite a while and with all the cool products available for testing and I get to test a few small hooks. I am a very dissappointed Life Member. Thats almost insulting.

Toilet Paper

I'm more and more disapointed every time I recieve a copy of NAFC mag. This month it's only 68 pages. Of the 68 pages, 20 are addvertizing. If it gets any smaller, it will become toilet paper!!!

what is up with the mag? the issue before last lumped three months together and the latest issue like most others are half filled with ads for non-fishing related items and the rest is new fishing items for sale. if i wanted to buy new tackle id get a fricking cabelas catalog. no ice fishing articles in the latest issue just a couple of pages promoting new gear. mag really sux!!!!

I received a recent invitation to preview the American Legacy WWII knife set and have decided that after numerous past purchases I no longer wish to make procure anymore items that are not made in the US or Canada with exception of completing a previous set. I have just sent the below message to the NAFC and will be awaiting their response. The only difference in the email is the italicized below.

"I have just received the WWII commemorative knife invitation to purchase. I would like to know the origin country of manufacture and assembly. As a long term life member I am concerned about any future purchases that are not made and manufactured in the USA especially something as important as our countries history. I hope that the club wall change its purchase options in the future to support OUR COUNTRY. If not I may decide to cancel my membership and encourage others to do the same. I really don't expect an answer other that the starting question.

The ball is now in your court.......... I would like your response in writing not by phone.

I have been an member since jan and have only received 1 magazine, i paid for my full membership back in feb and have still not received another magazine, I was really anticipating them and was sad to see that they have not been coming even though my membership is draining.

Can anyone help me?

Honor Roll: Goof Up or Similarly Named Member?

When I get a new issue, one of the first things I do is look for my name in the Life Member Honor Roll (LMHR). I received my February 2012 issue and, as always, looked over the list of names in the LMHR. That's when I saw the name Benjamin Bryant and my first thought was, they goofed. My name is Bencutter Bryant. As you can see, it is similar therefore, I just have to ask. Did someone goof or what?

Wow. I've been a life member for years now, and I get a postcard in the mail saying I need to reactivate or I will lose my life member benefits. When I signed up, the guy on the phone promised me a rod and reel combo. Then, when I called a couple months later, they told me I didn't qualify because I got a "discount" life membership. This has got to be about the lamest organization ever.

At least, years ago, the magazine was decent entertainment. The average number of pages per issue has decreased from around 100 to about 60 or 70, and much of it is now full-page ads. Most of the articles tell me I need to have a slew of special rods and fancy reels, then go on to list about every type of lure imaginable as something to try. Whatever happened to good outdoor writing? Oh, yeah, I also have a smartphone and 2 or 3 GPS/sonar units in my $50,000 boat, pulled by my high dollar pickup. Oh, and I get to fish in all these great places 1000 miles from my home. Sheesh!

The other "benefits" aren't really of much use to me. I tried field testing a couple of products, and got some $2 packages of lures that didn't work worth a hill of beans. The other benefits, I could care less. Anyway, back to my original topic, yes, I reactivated. You got my money, so your durn right I want to at least keep getting the magazine. I'm sure it will be coming soon that the paper magazine will cease to exist and everything will be on the web/phone apps. I suppose a guy will have to get a laptop next to the toilet to replace the old-fashioned stack of fishing mags, eh? Give me a break.

By the way, I still fish the same way I did before I became a member and catch just as many fish as I did then. Rant over.

I became a member and only recieved 2 magazines. and the price of so call membership keeps going up. Also i sent an email letting them know i didn't want to recieve any books. They keep sending them to me. As far as i see they send cheap products, don't know how to run this thing and they are just trying to make money for themself by cheating me
