SO...... I have a INEXT Excursion4 inflatable boat,and i love it!!!! i think it has to be one of my best investments i have ever made! it has me out on the water more getting to fish in spots i never thought i could go. so i was wondering if anyone else had one and if they have done any type customization or have any tricks or tips they have learned from using there or anything else they want to tell about about there inflatable boats

Guys I have a 9.5 Johnson motor and according to model number it is a 66 model. The question is at low speed it will go but the more rpms you give it just sits there like its out of gear. Now it has carter key you take screw off black nut , props comes off and there is a pin thru shaft and it rest on this. I've been told the prop is problem by other buddies. Is this possible with a pin thru it?

Mercury 4-stroke outboard squeaking

I have a '08 Mercury 50 hp 4-stroke outboard motor that is sqeaking (similar to an alternator belt on a car) when the motor is idling and/or in gear. I'm not at all familiar with outboards and not sure if there is a belt which would cause the squeaking noise. The squeak gets louder the higher the RPM's increase. Is anyone familiar with this issue and is it something of concern? The motor does not seem affected by the noise and starts/idles/runs great..Any suggestions?

tips on using my boat in cold weather

I was hoping somebody could give me some tips when I use my boat in the cold weather. I keep it inside but like a couple weeks ago I went to mountain lake and I had a little freezing problem. When I started my boat the next morning I saw I was,nt pumping water so I pulled it out and took the cover off the motor and let the sun hit it for awhile. It ran great after that and nothing was damaged. Does anyone know how I could prevent this? I have a mercury 90 optimax and its a 2012. Thanks for reading my post and good luck.

My boat has been stored in my garage for many years, just recently I moved and I have to keep my boat outside. I purchased a new boat cover,suction cup tie downs, slats, and slat brackets. Everything works great untill we get some rain. The whole system collapses and the slats get all twisted and bent out of shape. Is there any good system out there that works and is reasonably priced. Minn Kota MKR US 8 Trolling Motor Adaptor

Would anybody have a Minn Kota MKR US 8 trolling motor adapator cable? This is for Sonar 1 older cables. Not the newer Sonar 2. We have a Humminbird locator and no cable to use to hook up with our Minn Kota motor. Minn Kota quit making the cable. Thanks anybody!!

I just took in my 1954 Johnson Seahorse 5.5 to get tuned up and have an oil leak checked out. I've had the motor eleven years and God willing I'll get a few more out of it, but I realize, being so old, maintenance and repairs will get more difficult, if not impossible, as it gets older.

So, consequently, I may be looking for a new motor. Is there a general guideline or "blue book" when it comes to purchasing used motors? If and when I replace the one I have I'd like to upgrade to a 10 or 15 hp. What could I reasonably expect to pay for a reliable motor of that size?

HI BOAT LOVERS ,,,, I have a 10 foot jon boat its an old 86 sears boat flat bottom . I love it on small lakes and in local lakes , it dose ok i use an minn kota 65 with one battery there is just not alot of room to run two batterys .... I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that use the same size boat and if anyone thinks it would do good in a large lake,,,, or am i asking for truoble,,,,,, im also wanitng to know if i should just use a gas motor insted , it is only good for a 3hp on the tag , but im not finding anything for a good used one. the engine on the boat doesnt seem like it wants to run and im not sure what might need done to it and it has troble starting you have to turn the key and pump the fuel ball to make it start. tell me what to do!

I have a 1973 SeaKing 5 HP Outboard motor made by Clinton Motors K500 Series.
Now what I need is the Recoil Starter mine is trash and I need a replacement or one that will match up.
This motor ran great until the starter went bad and I hate to get rid of a good litle river motor.

What HP For My Boat?

I just bought a 10 foot flat bottom Columbia Boat and need to pick out a motor for it. It is only rated for up to a 10hp. I will be using it soon for trolling for salmon in tidewater here in Oregon. I was hoping someone could give me some advice as to what size of motor would go well on it. I am looking at several motors in the 3-9.8 hp range. The motor will need to be stong enough to push the boat against the tide with 2 people and gear in it. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I am putting the finishing touches on my 12 ft. v-hull that I purchased from the scrap yard I used to work at for 90 dollars (Boat and Trailer in great condition ; ) ) I am wondering if anyone has ever used leak seal (the spray rubber sealant) on their boats to add a little extra waterproof seal?? If so, how did it work and how long does it last? I've heard a few good things. I am planning to mark off the areas I want to seal with painters tape and put a sleek good looking water stopper on the boat. Any opinions/suggestions?? Thanks in advance. Tight Lines!!

removing glue from boat

I am need of help! I am trying to removing Carpenter glue off the seats of my aluminum 12 ft. boat. Can anyone give me some suggestions???? The reason I need to do this is my brother put sponge cushions on the seats and used carpenter glue to attach them (Dud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). They have been on the boat for about 3 yrs. I removed the cushions but cannot get the glue off. PLEASE help!!!!!
