I was wondering what technique one would use to catch Walleye in a creek during the spawn. Also, what areas of a theoretical creek would be the best places to find them in large quantities.

Normally this time of year, I'm all over the Steelhead. But last week a buddy talked me into a little night fishing for Walleye. We got a few each night, weather was cold and windy, but we had a good time as usual when we fish together.

thundermist viper spoons for walleye?

Ive been watching alot of the thundermist fishing tips videos on youtube, and there viper spoons look great, exept I dont personally know anyone who has tried them... any advice would be nice! even if youve never tried them, if you can watch some of there walleye videos of youtube.

inline planer boards and diving devices

I would like to start a discussion on inline planer boards and diving devices.

My preference is Church’s walleye boards. I think that they pull harder than the Offshore boards. Then I fit them with the OR18 Offshore release; you will have to file off the indexing pin off the release and drill a second hole in the release bracket. You use both the Church’s screw and the Offshore’s screw so the release doesn’t spin. For night fishing I use the Church’s light flag kit. The LED lights are bright and are red and green for starboard and port plus small, light and waterproof. One of these days I would like to try the new Church’s TX-44 Special boards. I hear that they pull hard but come in easy and they advertise you can pull Dipsy divers and 50 jets off of them. If you have used them please post your opinion on them.

As far as diving devices I like Lite Bite Slide Divers better than Dipsy divers but don’t use them much. I prefer to use weight and Jet divers and have found that you can run 30 Jets off inline boards.

Thanks for looking at my article! I've never caught a walleye before and would really like some help. The closest place that holds them is Pickwick Lake. MS, AL, and TN border. I go there every summer. Please offer some advice! Anything will help!!

my goal this year is trying to catch a walleye. Problem is i never actually tried to. I really have no idea how to catch this fish or what to use. I fish in a reservoir in NJ and the depths range from 25 to 80 feet. any suggestions please would help. TY

The 50 year old walleye record in Illinois was eclipsed in Jan but before it could even be confirmed, another potential record fish has been caught from the Pecatonica River near Rockford. The female was weighed on a certified scale at just over 15 lbs, beating the prior challenger by 5 oz. DNA tests are pending.

Avoiding white perch while fishing for walleye?

I am new to walley fishing and have been trying to catch walleye at LaDue Reservoir in NE Ohio because I can take my kayak there. The difficulty is, there is a major problem with the white perch population. No matter what bait or lure I use, a white perch is attached to it within minutes or even seconds of dropping the line. Is there any way to avoid these pesky fish, or can anyone recommend another inland lake within 45 minutes of Cleveland where I can fish for walleye without this problem? (Pymatuning is too far for just an afternoon and Mosquito would be difficult in a kayak with no horsepower limits.)
