Tenth Annual 2013 Members Get Together at La Crosse Wisconsin

We’d like to invite you to join us on the banks of the Mississippi river to fish one of the best multispecies fisheries around. (Bluegill, Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, White Bass, Sauger, Northern Pike, Walleye, Perch, and Catfish)

Dates:

July 15th to July 21st - 2013

Place:

Goose Island campground is Located 3 miles south of La Crosse just off of Hwy 35 in the back waters of the Mississippi River.

Reservations:
Reservations are accepted at Goose Island beginning January 2^nd of each year. To make a reservation, please call the campground at 608-788-7018 leave a message with the site # you’d like to reserve and a call back #. Manager Ida Christenson, will give you a call back to confirm your reservation and / or answer any questions you might have. Make sure to tell her that you are attending the NAFC get together.

If you are not a camper and need info on motels and or hotel in the area please let us know.

Just a reminder! :

You must be 18 yrs. old to reserve a campsite at the campground and /or to attend the meet alone. However if you are a member under the age of 18 yrs. you are welcome to join us as long as a parent or guardian accompanies you during your stay in case of an emergency.

Licenses:

Wisconsin fishing licenses (season) run from April 1st to March 31st of the following year. Licenses for the 2013 to 2014 year go on sale mid-March. You can buy online or purchase them at the campground store when you check in.

2013 NE Meet Lake George Lake Champlain

It's that time again the 2013 North East Meet for Lake George and Lake Champlain will be held the weekend of May 17th-19th. All are welcome. This meet is the original members meet the first one of it's kind. All others took off from this meet. Of course you are able to stay longer if you please. We will be there until the 21st. Sorry I missed my first time last year of attending this meet in 14 years due to work status but will be there this year. I've already heard from some of you who are attending this year. So far 5 of the Jersey boys are coming and our sites are reserved already.
New members wishing to attend can contact me at jarhead1974@hotmail.com and I can provide information. We stay at Rogers Rock state campgrounds in Hague NY and fish both Lake George and Lake Champlain with both ramps being within 15 minutes of each other.
It's been a long time since I've been on the board and was a regular since the early 90's on the board.
I'd love to hear from you and will try to keep up with the postings.
I would really like to hear from all you past attendees.

Mikado Michigan Meet

OK, I'm planning a MEET at my property in Mikado, Michigan for the free fishing weekend in June 2013, ya'll come! I got room to park your tent, camper, trailer, boat and trailer and a retreat house with three bedrooms (each with two single beds). There's plenty of local water holes and lake Huron or the Mighty AuSable river are only about ten miles away. Start making plans to help make the meet. Got any ideas?

This goes out to all the active meets that have been meeting for multiple years now. Is there any reason(that anyone is sure of) that the club does not support or assist in member meets? I think an annual article in the mag would help keep everyone in touch. I for one have been hoping for a few years now to attend a meet, but it just hasn't worked out for me yet. I think it would be great if once a year the club could post an after meet article to let us all know how they are. I think that would end up being an article that members look forward to on a yearly basis. Any thoughts?

Finger Lakes 8th Annual Meet 2012

From what I've heard from everyone over the years Seneca Lake is OK with everyone!! That said it will be at Seneca Lake untill someone else takes over the planning. There has been some talk of changing the time it is held because of school makin it harder for folks to come the whole week.

So when do you ALL want to have it.

If no intrest in changing it would be the 14th,15th,16th ( Friday,Saturday , Sunday ) of September.

I live quite a ways from Lacrosse, WI, so I really can't make it to the next members meet. Will there ever be a meet in Michigan? Lake St. Clair would be a nice place for the meet.

This post is something I never thought I'd have to make. However, due to various contributing factors, I am extremely sadden to have to state that the 2009, 8th year Gwinn Members Meet must be canceled.

Members who have attended these meets for the past 7 years, have put a lot of time and effort in making this meet work., and for that I am extremely grateful. From a small group of 5 initally in 1991, to the meet in 2007 and last years meet, it had grown to a manageable size for it's location. Many friends were made, and relationships established. These friendships are what these meets are all about, and will be long lasting.

Should conditions improve in the future, and the Good Lord willing, we will met again, I pray.

Once again,, THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED OER THEYEARS- FOR IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE WITHOUT ALL OF YOU.

NE MEET 2012 Rogers Rock S.P. Lk Champlaign & Lake George

Well it's that time again. The meet that started em all is up and running with a little more attention on the Emails than here so I thought I'd post to let you all know that...... They'r Baaaaaack.

We are planning for a meet date the weekend before memorial day. Typical sites for the meet are on the loop that has site 42 and vicinity. I have no doubt there will be plenty of new friends for anyone who wishes to attend and to you veterans you know what's up.

We always have a great time and the fishing is amazing with Lk George's clear deep waters giving up Lakers to our trolling buddies and some fantastic smallies for the bassers. Lk Champlaing is home to greener waters with abundent large and small mouths pike and walleye...not to mention some nice cats we have fried up in the past.

Reservations are made through Reserve America's website.

This years 2011 Lacrosse Meet - a message from muskygirl

I just wanted to take this moment to say that I am very sorry for misunderstandings you all may have felt you had about my behavior during the meet this year. I know that I kept to my self through most of the meet. I want to clear up that I was not trying to ignor anyone nor was I trying to be ain't-social. The cancer has really been kicking my butt this year and that week I was really feeling the worst I had been in a long time. Add in the fact that the heat and humidity was way to much for me and I had just gotten the news from my latest tests and scans and it wasn't good news. I had no energy what so ever and all I felt like doing was sleeping. A couple days into camping I could tell that I should have stayed home this year. Then I developed a leg infection which added to my unwellness. Then to top it all off, my boat sunk. It has come to my attention that my behavior during all that was going on during the whole ordeal was not what it should have been. I didn't even know what was going on because I had been sleeping. When I was awoken, it just didn't click in my head what was going - only that my boat could not be seen above water. After all that was said and done, I made sure everyone was alright and kind of checked out of my mind again. If I missed saying thank you to any of you (or if you felt that my thank you was not from the heart) that helped pull the boat of the water, please, please know that I really did appreciate all that was done to get the boat back on land and I am very grateful that you all worked so hard.

As I try to look back on that week, I KNOW that for some reason I really did check out - and my mind and body had just shut down. I dont remember about 90% of that whole week to be honest. I do know that I sleep most of that week away - not making it to most of the meals or the nightly gatherings by the campfire. I only ended up fishing about three times that whole week and if any of you really know me - I am out on that river morning, noon, and night so that should have been a clue that I just wasn't right.

So if I offended anyone by my behavior, I am very, very sorry. It was never my intention to make anyone feel like I was ignoring them or just plain being a {1}*****. Please know it was nothing that anyone did, I was just very unwell and not in my right frame of mind, and I am very, very sorry.

NAFC NE Annual Meet Lake George/Lake Champlain 10th Anniversary Meet

Hello Everyone!

We had a great meet last year and I hope all that attended will will return.

This year is our 10th Anniversary Meet! Yeah! The oldest meet there is. I invite all for a good time. We need to get our heads together and come up with something special.

I am looking at the dates of the weekend of May 16th & May 17th.

Does this work for all? I wanted to get the post out early so we can work on all the particulars and make this meet very special.

As always, this is YOUR meet! Everyone has a say and all suggestions are welcome. Let's brainstorm, I know PA that's a lot for you but concentrate buddy, and we can have the best meet ever.

Let me know if the dates work for everyone and let's start early getting it all together.

It looks like many successful meets are now going on across the country and it makes me happy to see their success.

It all started with this meet everyone! Then followed the Michigan meet with Doc and others fell in like dominoes.

Things to think about. Shirts, Hats, Longevity etc. along with the wonderful food etc.

Lets chat it up and see what ideas we all agree on.
