so I was selected to field test a gift certificate from a company called lurecraft. I received the gift certificate in the mail and made my selections. they have a good selection of items for building your own lures especially puring you own plastics. I am not into that but fortunatly they have fly tying items also. I picked out a hares mask some purple faux fox fur and a couple of different colors of saddle hackle.

I just have to say that I was very impressed with thier customer service was just great. i would recomend them for anyone who builds their own lures. I was also impressed that they already had my infor from stuffstuff.

I think stuffstuff is working out well.

Who Caught A Fish Today?

Where I live there is a 5 acre pond in the community. I fished it a few days ago with good luck. Today I went back and fished for about an hour and a half, catching a 15" LMB and a 14" crappie...Woo hoo, let the season begin!

Getting Permission to Fish on Private Property

Well, every day for the last few weeks, I have been passing by this pond surrounded by a condominium complex. As of lately, I have become curious as to what kind of fish are present there. When I looked in the water, I was shocked. While walking around the pond, I spotted 38 bedding bass and all of the ones I saw were around 5 lbs! Eager to receive permission to fish there, I called the complex manager to request access to the pond, but I was denied. They kindly explained to me that there are no fish in the pond and that I should fish somewhere where there actually are fish. They suggested two crappy locations and hung up.

Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Fishing Tie 2013

So there's what, 6 of us still on the site? Last years recipients did a great job, but since I've been in charge of setting the calendar, it's been a back burner issue. Kinda like life is going on and the tie just doesn't hold the same importance, it did for Jerry (Lip Ripper) and Pete (Turnip).

Well I should probably ask, and figure out the calendar for 2013. Who wants the tie and when do you want it?

BTW if you don't know what I'm talking about, ask me to go into detail and I'll write up a brief history.

buying a tire for my trailer

I went to the store and bought a tire for my trailer. 4 bolt 4.8 by 8, and they required my name address, phone number and asked for my email. They told me they could not sell the tire to me without the name and address. I was pissed so I lied and gave them one from twenty years ago. They said the department of transportation required this. I'm wondering if anyone has the slightest idea why a trailer tire requires so much information.

The last time I bought a tire, I gave them money and walked out of the store. I think this is the way life is supposed to work.

my first Stuff Stuff product test and review Cabelas HDS Floating Shad

I rec'd these a week ago and they made me want to go fishing. I got out today. I began trolling this lure on 10# Cabelas flouro. The fish seemed to be in the 6-10 range and this lure, on a long line would tick 10' consistently. The three fish I caught were 2 yellow perch and a bluegill. I switched to a chrome and black lure for comparison sake. I immediately noticed the Floating Shad had a much subtler wiggle (tighter?}. The floating shad was in green, the package said "northern pike" but the package really missed the length, so IDK if it was norther pike and it's too warm to catch those fish in the bodies of water that I fish. Anyway, the black and chrome did about the same. We docked for a while and fished from the dock and along the bank. I ended up catching a crappie and 5 bass, two in the 1.5-2 pound range.

I was most impressed how the finish and bill didn't get damaged from trolling and cranking from shore. This lake has zebra mussels and they can scratch up a lure very quickly. It also deflected well off rocks and rarely deflected so much the lure would turn over. What I'm trying to say is it righted itself quickly. Some other lures I've used will deflect and do a half barrell roll and pop out of the surface. The floating shad didn't. It seemed to back up nose down when I paused after a quick jerk of the rod tip. Some lures will almost turn a complete 180 degrees when jerked this one, would only go about 90 degrees.

All in all I liked this lure. The finish would not be my preference. I'd rather try in order of preference, chrome w black back, a green sunfish, and crappie pattern . I would give it 5 stars, but one day fishing isn't enough to be that generous.

Anyone else from the NAFC tested these?

I dont know how many of you are members of both clubs ,but they are putting on an auction on the NAHC site .It is listed under the misalliances section over there .All the proceeds go to help hunters in need .No one that runs this outfit gets anything for them selves .It was started years ago by members of the hunting club .If you have any questions on it or how it works just ask on the forum or get ahold of Toones or Elkman1 over there .Or ask here and I will get the answers .Please help .Thanks every one .

one man pontoon

Was wondering if anyone has fished in a one man inflatable pontoon? How did you like it and what are the pro's and
con's. I'm thinking of getting one that I can mount a trolling on so I can get to all those hard to get to lakes and pond's/

Smart phones

I purchase a smart phone a couple days ago. Tried to log onto here. I was able to put in my user name and password. Then hit login and nothing happened. Tried this a few times and had no luck. I know I am learning how to, on the phone, but was wondering if any of you have tried this and what success you have had.
