hey here y'all,

i had found some private ponds to go fishing in & was wondering if any1 wanted to go with us (my wife & i).we went last friday (august 24th) & my brother caught a couple of catfish that weighed about 10 pounds.whoever wants to go with us sometime just send a message to me.

anyone walleye fish in Georgia?

Anyone walleye fish in Georgia? Specifically I'm interested in fishing Carters Lake since it's more convenient for me to head there than some of the other lakes. I don't own a boat, but a friend does. So if anyone can share some tips for both bank and boat fishing that would be much appreciated!

When do the spawn here? What about fishing for them in summer heat?

I'm more of a river/stream and pond kind of guy. I don't fish large lakes much.

I will be moving to Georgia just outside Hartwell in a few months about 5 min from the lake. I'm looking for any info on fishing Lake Hartwell., mostly for the species other than bass so I can take my girlfriend's children on successful fishing trips catching nice size fish .Will be mostly shore fishing. Also any info on trout fishing in the area would be appreciated.... Thanks

Ok Georgia, UncleTomJigs and I have discussed starting a Ga chapter of NAFC. If any of ya'll are interested, let's see about getting this show on the road.

Middle Ga (Macon/Warner Robins)would be the meeting area because it seems Ga. members are scattered all over.
I understand that we can only be affiliated with NAFC in spirit because at this time the powers that be do not recognize "Chapters" and will offer no support.

This group would be for like minded folks with a love for fishing and having fun. We are already members of the same Fishing Club, most of the members which we will never meet, so why not get together ourselves and compare fish notes,fish stories and lies about that 500 pound crappie that got away when it pulled your boat into a tree stump!!!!

If we get enough interest we can start planning for our first meeting/get together.......sayyyyyy.....November----ish. Email me at wggrif@aol.com and let's see what we can do!!!

Any interest in a fishing/camping trip to Lake Blue Ridge (north Ga) on the 1st or 2nd weekend in October??? Would be Fri, Sat, and leave Sun. Do a little fishing and eat what we catch. ( there will be other food...just in case we don't catch anything) Do a little NAFC socializing etc. If interested, PM me or email at wggrif@aol.com with phone number....(Blue Ridge Trip in the heading) I'll call you and we can talk about it. Wives, kids, moms, dads, and even the pet lama would be welcome!!!

vacation in the blue ridge

So instead of taking the kids to the keys for vacation like we have for the past 5 years we have decided to go to the blue ridge mountains in north georgia for our july trip. We will be staying in a cabin on a river that is supposed to have good trout fishing. Im just looking for a little info on what to expect. I dont have a fly rod will a spinning rod do fine or should i purchase a fly. What kind of baits or lures should i use. This will be my first time so i don't have any idea of what to expect. Any info would be much appricated. Thanks

GEORGIA FISHING REPORT

The weather has really warmed up here in Southeast Georgia although the wind seems to enjoy gusting along with the warm weather. My grand dad use to say the wind keeps the bugs away! Bass, bluegills, shellcrackers have really turned it on during this post spawn. Close friend and I have totaled out several times on bass. What is really good is how healthy they look--all squared up like a prize fighter. Wife and grand children have been doing the same on bluegills (show lots of growth from last year). From what I hear at local tackle shops the bluegills and shelllcrackers have turned it own in large lakes like Seminole and all the rivers. Good luck and great fishing! Say a prayer for me--can hardly walk but can fish when there is someone there to help me in the boat. Have had a couple of falls into the lake trying to get into boat by myself. My Dad who is 84 caught a 49 pound channel catfish out of his pond--took him hour and half to land. He enjoyed every minute and I have enjoyed it even more to listen to his account.

Hello once again everyone and a belated Happy New Year!! It looks to me as if we have about 50 Ga. members so here is an attempt to try and get ya'll interested in a member meet once again. I really don't know what happened in Dec.2010!! After much interest at the beginning, it all of a sudden went to h--l in a hand basket!!
SO......here we go.....Is there ANY interest in starting an Annual Member Meet for the Ga members? .(check out member meets or the Wisconsin forum for the Lacrosse Wi. member Meet) These folks seem to really enjoy themselves every year..this is number 11 or 12 for them if I remember right.
I hope to hear from ya'll soon as fishing season is just around the corner. Also check out this new forum http://thetoonafishinbuddys.proboards.com/index.cgi . It's just getting off the ground and they are a bunch of nice guys with a lot of knowledge of this particular lake as well as other information. Hope to see you there as well.

Hey georgians I was just wondering were are good spots at the west point lake for crappie fishing. I've been trying yellow jacket and halfmoon creek area without any luck for the past couple of weeks I've been there. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! Just think a whole new year out there without a single cast. I am hoping in my basket there will be twelve bass over ten pounds, another couple over sixteen, and one over twenty. Sometimes we forget how many big bass there are in small lakes and ponds. Our great river systems have produced well over the years. If my health can improve a little I am going back to those hot spots on nearby rivers and try some new lakes. Wish the same for all of you! I thank God for all the NAFC Fellowship and leadership. Uncle Tom
