Ice Fishing Anyone

Is it just me or for the shore fisherman do the fish seem alot smaller this year...I am completely lost this year on why i cant seem to catch anything of size...Im sure alot of u are thinking to urself...well u prob arent very good anyways...that maybe the case but atleast out of what luck i have had in the past i have caught some nice fish...Just a curiosity question...

Been looking for other Idahoans to chat or be friends with but no one is around. So maybe i'm the only one. Thats all right I think this club is great. that i have a place to get tips on different ways to fish. Looking forward to getting out there this year and trying some of them out. I've never taken a walleye before looks . Only bass i've caught (& released) was about 8" . The pond is a trouphy pond so I know they are in there. Just have to try again and again. Been awhile sence I've been there. Maybe it has gotten better?. Also looking foreward in getting to fish C J Stike Reservoir in a boat this time. Last time I went I was only catching baby persh. Didn't even need any bait they just would hit the hook.It was fun but soo boring.
Sorry I got off the topic. Any way i'll keep looking for other Idahoans out there. Know there are more then me and my wife here!

havent been out lately and just wanted to know if anyone else has gone fishing and how it went. im hopeing that this can be the new spot for us to post our trips. just let us know where when how the weather was etc. this last week has been weird with the weather. its diffently spring. and im scared to plant anything cause of the freezing over night. im sure the fish are freaking out as well. where can we find them?

Fernan Lake Trout

Anybody trolling Fernan Lake yet for trout. Always caught my limit at least once or twice a week. Trolled at a low speed either at the front end just east of the docks or at the back end across the face of the second and third bay. Using a hildebrant spoon and a number four hook with a half worm. Silver Hildebrant worked best then the dual silver and gold second. Have a blast and get your limit.

salvage fishing

the camas and mtn home res. is ready for salvage fishing. any and all fish. i'm gonna hit them aug. 4. The mtn home res is really low with lots of brush. any tips on catching trout in an "empty" tree/brush filled lake? also its gonna be hot out here too. What should i use to catch the trout?

Owyhee Reservoir

My son and I went to Owyhee yesterday and managed to catch a bass about 2 lbs. We seen some crappie and carp jumping and had some crappie bites but didn't catch any on our bass lures. Water temp is anywhere from the low 40's to 52. Water clarity was clear around the dam and got muddier the further up you went. Water level was 43 feet down. Seems to be coming up about a foot every 5 days. The road up by the dam is full of rocks and they're not cleaning them off yet. And of course managed to get a flat on my boat trailer on one of my brand new tires on the side wall.

A lot of fly fisherman on the river below the dam. Saw one trout caught as we were driving by.

Remember to practice catch and release on those bass. It is spawning time.

few things for sale

ive got a few things that am getting rid of. a rod or 2. couple reels. waders and a pretty nice float tube. for now its for folks in the mtn home area or someone willing to drive to the area. i dont know what rods and reels i wanna sell so thats why i want local people first. we can meet somewhere and do some wheelin and dealin. got uglys, other rods that i dont know the brand, baitcast reels and spinncast reels.the tube is big and has good sized compartments and NO leaks. the waders (rubber set and soft wet suit type set) do have some leaks though. the rubber you can patch but the other pair can keep a person drier than not having nothing. anyone interested let me know and we can set something up.

Soo I went on Sunday and talked to these locals. They had caught an 8 ft sturgeon, few trout, crappie and two 20 inch long cats. Pretty good for 2 days

the res is filling up! went there today and looked around. no sign of fish yet but it wont be long. i might go hit my spot wednesday and try it out. for the record the fish are not very big but its fun fishing there. if you all want big strong fish then dont ever go to the res. maybe this year the trout will be bigger. ha. doubt it but one can only wish. who knows!
