Hey all, this is in no means anyway to try to be in charge, but as a new member and fisherman here. I would really like to meet new friends and members in this area and see about getting a local board going for us to swap help and tips. This is our state and who knows it better right.

I am 27 years old, turning 28 July 9th.

Fished a little bit when I was really young, and started back up 3 weeks ago in hopes to learn this sport and the fun and joy so I can help my son learn this. He just turned 1 a few weeks ago.

I live in West Monroe, La.

I hope to get to know you all and we can start planning a weekend or just start sharing ideas to get to know each other more.

I've lived in New Orleans my entire life, and have been fishing my entire life. I fished Lake Cataouatche, Lake Salvador, Lake Pontchartrain, Des Allemands etc. Now I moved to Lafayette for college, and I can't find one decent place to fish. I pretty much live in the heart of the city, so the Atchafalaya is a bit far. Anybody know where I can fish(any type) in Lafayette?

Central Louisiana Red River bar pits

Anyone tell me where any bar pits of the Red River between Marksville and Alexandria area are located, and how to access them.
I found some on a map but driving the area I found no access to them. I've heard reports ( friend of a friend of a friend ) that there catching some real good bass and sac au lait. But they didnt know how to get to them.
Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone in the Ville PLatte Alexandria Areas know where old cajun catch some Sac Au Laits. Was tearing them up in Lake Chicot but now they draining it. Hear about Indian Creek Res. But don't know the laje or how to fish it.

Need help with schooling fish

I am from south Louisiana, an Atchafalaya Basin fishing swamp rat all my years, I can always catch fish in the maze bayous swamps and shallow lakes. even when there schooling there on points and near the banks in moving water. I have recently moved to north Louisiana, and reservoirs and lakes here are much different than I am used to and I cant seem to catch a fish since the spawn and the fish moved from the shallow areas. I see them schooled up and running shad or bait fish, in deep water, but can't get a strike. Only 3 fish this entire late summer. Somebody help me please!!!

Well everyone I've been out off of HWY 51 fishing 4-5 days a week for the last 2 months, fishings been very slow and far between strikes. Anyone have any good panfish secrets. Also noticed the carp are starting to spawn, so the soakale (s.p. crappie) should be coming in soon to bed.

Fishings been awesome, unable to get on much anymore. Had fun with bass last weekend, watching them tear up a huge school of shad was great, each one I caught was a fatty. Going out this weekend after the boys birthday for some Nite Fishing. Hope you all are catching the fish!

Does anyone know of a good charter boat for tuna? I keep hearing there are a lot of big tuna out near the oil rigs. I would love to plan a trip over there and try my luck one some big tunas.
