Too cold for anyone else this week?

This is the first year I managed to get everything I personally needed to be out on the ice alone. Now with temperatures below zero for almost a week I can't get out to enjoy the ice in just a pop up. Just curious how many brave soles have been out regardless and how the action has been. (Guess i best start saving for a nice permanent)

MILLE LACS LAUNCHES

Hey everybody. I'm going to say that Bluegoose/Garrison sports' fishing launches are the best around, the crew is kind and friendly, Steve on the big pontoon is one of the funniest fellas you could ever meet. Very clean boat (probably the cleanest bathroom too, to all the lady readers on here), kind baitboys who know what they are doing and take pride in their job. Great Walleye and Perch fishing, even the occasional small mouth bass. They do do Northern Pike trips but if your going to I suggest doing a small group of 5-9 or 10. Very spacious. Good for group gatherings, bachelor parties, or anything you have in mind. If you wanna do some hanging out with friends and loved ones, I strongly suggest going on one of these launches. Like I said earlier if you go try and get onto the Pontoon with Steve and his gang. Season for the launches begins on Saturday, May 12, 2012. The easiest way to set up a group gathering is by calling the Bluegoose in Garrison, MN and asking for the off-sale. Talk to the person on the other side and set up your day of enjoyment. The off-sale has a ton beer and ice so don't worry about bringing your own, and right next to it on either side is Super America and the Bluegoose restaurant. You can go and get your snacks and such. All and all its really a lot of fun, even for an avid fisherman like myself. I strongly recommend getting the chance to get out on the "big toon".

Conditions on Big Winnie

Hey all,

There are four of us headed to Winnie this coming weekend and will be staying at High Banks. We've heard that lake travel is somewhere between impossible and almost impossible, but that was before this big warm-up. Are there any locals on here that can provide an up-to-date report on travel conditions or fishing report? Would I be better off taking the atv w/ tire chains, or driving the truck out there? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Nov 2010 Snowfall

Are you guys still shoveling out after your first dump or is it all melting away already? My son (we're from Northern Ontario) goes to college in Rosemount, MN and was with a couple buddy's visiting the U of M last Friday night. When they got ready to go home Saturday afternoon, the fella that owned the car they were traveling in got a little nervous about driving on I-35 with 6" of snow. Guess it was a little messy on I-35 for a while .
