if everyone is ok with restarting this thread i'm willing to start it. the other one is buried so far back in the history im afraid no one will find it.not real happy with the changes. lost my post count and siggy bar. why they couldn't leave it alone is beyond me. had to reregister also. a little notice would have been nice.

Crappie fanning banks.

Attn. Mo. Members,... My father started catching Crappie yesterday from the bank [7] in a cove off the Grand River arm of Harry S. Truman lake. All were males who apparently were fanning the banks making nest for the females.

The Res. is currently 9 and 3/4 FT HIGH. Dad was catching them at the edge of the regular shore line bank [underwater] in all this high water. May have actually been fishing 6 1/2 to 7 ft deep where he was. Anything Chartruse seemed to work.

Fishing tackle and much other Misc. items by at least 30+ dealers. Hosted by MoBASS.

March 1st and 3rd = Booker's Auction Service,.. 5 miles East of Clinton, Mo. on hwy 7. Friday 3/01/13 will be regular auction night starting at 6:30 PM. Misc of all kinds including: rods/ reels, tackle, and tackle boxes.

Same location.. 3/03/13 - [Sun] Starting at either 10, am 12, or 1 PM will be an ALL GUYS Auction. Will = have Fishing, Hunting, Trapping, Tools and other GUY related items. // Should be some firearms as well.

Seeking Mark Twain advice

My brother-in-law has invited me to Mark Twain Lake next weekend. I have been there a couple of times before with not much luck. I am hoping to set a trot line and do some drift fishing at night. Can anyone tell me if one cove or channel is better for big cats? Where is the best place to net up some shad or small gills? I am not looking the fill the boat. I prefer to take pics and put the big ones back. As always any help is appreciated.

bps scratcher game

on a whim i bought one of those bps scratch off ticket from the mo lottery last friday nite dont no why i did dont buy that kinda thing very often anyhoo when i scratched it off won a $500.00 gift card from bps. took it to the regional lottery office had it verified then sent off to the main office in jeff city. will receive my gift card in 4-6 weeks cant believe it starting to make out my shopping list now

Hello NAFC Missouri members. = FYI

I am joining a fishing tackle sale being held Feb. 25, 2012 in Warsaw, Mo. at the Warsaw Community Center.
It will be an inside sale.The sale will be from 8 AM until 4:30 PM that day.

There while be several individual sellers [like me] At least one local Bass club and its members, and there will be [3] guys in one booth making lures and baits at this show. Hopefully there will be a good 30 sellers there [or more] There should be a nice choice of fishing items priced reasonable.

Food and drinks are available close to the sales area.

Please come down ands look around or visit if you can.

Where are the crappie biting

My brother, a friend and I are planning a fishing trip to Missouri, probably in about a month and probably Southern part of state looking for warmer weather and some crappie fishing. Any suggestions on timing and places to fish? We prefer smaller waters.

I have just started to fish over in Jackson County mainly Longview Lake. I havent had much luck only a Bass and a couple gills. Any pointers or tips for these bodies of water. Longview seems like a good fishery but hard going so far. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Decided to travel a little and took my daughter and her friend to Bennett Springs. It seemed the girls had a blast netting the little sculpins (ugly buggers) while I hooked into a pound rainbow. Saw quite a few vultures hanging and flying around the river. Also saw too many idiots on float trips outside of the state park.

Tried just about everything in my tackle box, but released the only trout I caught tody.

looking to start bow fishing

I just bought a used bow fishing setup and would like to take up the sport. I am wondering if any St. louis members would be willing to to let me tag along on their outing or go out in my boat. My boat is a 14ft fiberglass tri hull with a 50hp evinrude. It can hold 3 people tops and does not have an railing or lighting like I see on most bowfishing/gigging rigs so I am guessing it would have to be a day trip.

Eminence Mo Fishing(HELP) and Floating

So im going now to Eminence Missouri on the 7th to do some Fishing and FLoating. The rivers we float on are the Current River and Jack Fork River. We catch alot of Pumpkinseed in little pools that run off the rivers and we usually just use minnows we catch in the river. Are there any other tactics we cud use other then just throwing a minnow into a little pool to catch maybe some Cats, Carp or some Big Smallmouth Bass. Fish are fish but i want to catch something other then a Pumpkin Seed and a few small blueies.
