Change April 28th,2012 tournament to Alum creek

We have discovered that Ohio game and fish is also having a crappie tournament on Delaware lake on the same day we are. They will have at least 60 boats competing for the small lake with us. To avoid this we would like to change ours to Alum creek, if there are no objections. Let me know what you think

Pics of Ohio Chapter's 4th Annual Meet

This meet gets bigger and better every year. A lot of people put a lot of work into making it a great meet. We got to meet some new members this year as well as get re-acquainted with our Bushwacker friends from PA. There were lots of activities for the kids and lots of activities available for adults. A lot of fishing went on but sad to say not a lot of catching this year. But the whole purpose of the Meet is to socialize, and that we do very well. And eat! Too many pics to try to post so they're on a slide-show here:

http://www.slide.com/r/buH1gwPM1z_K...w=original

DeMores is the PLACE...

to eat your favorite fish from our own Lake Erie. If you are ever near Sandusky or in Port Clinton, DeMores has two locations that are serving up my favorites of Lake Erie Perch and Walleye. Located at 302 W. Perkins in Sandusky and 1400 E.Perry St. in Port Clinton, these people are serving up just about everything from fresh water and salt water fish and seafood. Plus they have a wide variety of food for even you landlubbers. I had the deep fried Walleye with a side of mushrooms and it was EXCELLENT. I was very surprised to find Turtle Soup on the menu as well. Perch,Walleye,Pickerel,Catfish are just some of the many items you will find on their menu board. Served up hot and cooked P E R F E C T L Y!! Some items are a bit pricey if you are on a budget BUT well worth the price. A pound of Walleye with the mushrooms actually filled me up for less the $20.00,.Unlike going to Mickey D's and ordering a fish sandwich and NOT KNOWING what kind of fish your eating, here at DeMores you will know if it's a Giant Perch Sandwich ($3.99 sandwich only or $5.99 as a meal) or Giant Pickerel(price the same). Get it deep fried or baked, they will please your taste buds. Clams, oysters, crab cakes, scallops and shrimp. For you landlubbers they have your chicken, hamburgers and steaks. Hours are 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM Monday thru Thursday and 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM Friday and Saturday and 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM on Sunday during the summer months. Going to Cedar Point? They 10 minutes away on W.Perkins in Sandusky. And if anything else the decor will appeal to the fishermen. It is truly a Fishermen's Restaurant. ENJOY!! Skeeter

Panfish tournament at CJ Brown, May 21st

Some of us members from the ohio chapter are putting together another panfish tournament. It will be held on May 21st of this year at CJ Brown located at Buck Creek State Park.
This is an on going list of fish attractors placed in CJ Brown Reservoir . It is a LONG list #1 N 39 58.792 W083 43.717 - 5 "C" trees in 8` close to silted over/ eroded RR right of way #2 N 39 58.506 W 083 43.826 - 10 "C" trees in 10-12` deep, 2 sets of 5 each in ditch rows either side of old RR right of way #3 N 39 58.419 W 083 43.939- 20 "C" trees, 10 as above, This set is close to the #2 No Wake Zone bouy and is very close to the N side of the embuttment for the RR bridge that crossed Buck Creek. It was a GOOD sm, cat and crappie spot. None of these 3 spots is fishable from shore. #4A-N 39 58.309 W83 44.727 -3 "C" trees , 2 supers 8-15` deep. Shore fishable. #7A N 39 57.792 W 83 44.895- 5 "C" trees in you guessed it. Shore fishable. #7B N 39 57.756 W 83 44.823- 5 "C" trees in 8-15` deep. Shore fishable. ***(if you are afraid of writer`s cramp or carpeltunnel? would understand but may I suggest you MAY want to jot down the next 2...just a suggestion) #8A N 39 57.685 W 83 44.845 to #8B N 39 57.663 W 83 44.830 a funny thing happened while we were on the lake...officially the are 7 "bb"s, 5 "C" trees and 3 supers listed as having slipped beneath the waves in these 2 spots, lost forever from the sight of men (unless you have fairly good sonar, or they drain the lake) but sometimes things are not what they seem. In front of Crabill House is a FISH ATTRACTOR GRAVEYARD! There are 30+ "bb"s, "C" trees, at least 10 are the supers some of the "C" trees were 12` tall and had to be double blocked to keep them down. And due to some superb boat handling by 5 Star, they lay in 6 to 20+` deep. Unfortunately, they are only partially shore fishable. Have already seen up to 4 boats on this spot at one time. It has a steep fall off into 35+` into a former limestone outcrop choked seasonal stream that flowwed into Buck Creek further down. I seriously wonder if this spot will produce anything? Hooked? More later, #9A- #9F and more later. Respectfully, The Friends of CJ Brown Reservoir.
