    • skewlYes, I know this video is in spanish, and it's an easy tie, but the interesting part is how the tier whip finishes the fly, I've never seen a fly finished like this. Has anyone else seen it done quite like this? It's kind of a different way to do it and it looks much easier than some traditional methods. (Pardon my newbieness, I still haven't nailed the whip finish)

    • the rod tosserIt is a hand tied half hitch usually they put three half hitches in . I recommend you learn how to do a hand whip finish and a hand half hitch there are times when you may need each in the proses of tying a fly .

  • NAFC fly tyers I know being a fly tier leads to creative thinking, so , what is the weirdest material or thing you ever tied a fly with . I have use candy cellophane wrappers for wings , used a thin strip from a potato chip bag for ribbing . used gum and colored it with a sharpie then coated it with epoxy to make grubs.

    • jcasciolii once used a reeses cup wrapper to tie a cutback wing pattern on an october caddis.. just cut it in the shape of a heart and tie in the bottom point near the eye and fold it back. ive also used my own hair to tie mayfly tails, last month when i was in pulaski i forgot to pack my microfibetts with my travel vice.
