 | BankBasser Hey guys im 12 years old and love to tye flies. But im not to great fishing. Im fairly good and wanted to know when or if someone would host a flyswap about 2 years ago | | Fly-Fisher ;-)Hi I'm 18 and have been fly fishing for a few years and I LOVE IT!!! When I first started I thought that it was something you did more for the satisfaction than catching fish, but I was wrong. I catch easily 2 to 3 times the fish with a fly pole over a spining rod. That includes Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Sunfish, Trout, Walleye, Carp, Pike, and anything else that swims. As far as witch flies to use, for trout I use a stone fly nymph (size 10 black bead head wully bugger), For panfish anything shinny. and for Bass, Pike, and Walleye a large size 6-1/0 Green and white buck tail or clouser minnow. GOOD LUCK !
wmeltonhey im 12 too and i love to fly fish i bet i could hook you up with a amazing fly fisherman who is our age
go two his website at tylerbefus.com read his book a kids guide to fly fishing
the rod tosseryep tyler is one amazing kid.
as in answer to your fly swap we usually do them in the off season. Tallcrane or ol jw has hosted them in the past . so yes we do do them . and it usually is twelve swappers deep . But if any one wants to host one they can at anytime .

 | Fly-Fisher ;-) What do you guys suggest for walleye. I use a dark green and white bucktail with gold flashing tied on a heavy wire hook in sizes 10 to 1/0 depending on water clarity (not that you cant use a big one in clear water). about 2 years ago | | - Show all 8 comments
jcasciolitry tying clouser patterns, strip and bottom bounce it to give it the appearance of a wounded minnow. gimme a cpl days and ill tie one up and upload it to my album to give ya an example.
the rod tossermostly you will use streamer patterns clousers, bunker minnows , thunder creeks , zonkers , matukas, cone head mudlers, leach patterns [articulated leach, or a rabbit strip leach ] wooly buggers . May flys yes walleyes will turn to mayfly's during a hatch and they may not eat anything but . Milacs lake in Minnesota is one of those lakes .
the rod tossersome of the flys in my photo album would work . like the Mylar tube minnows . You can fold lead tape over the hook shank and make them any length you want . I tied mine up at around 6 inches long
DGolderAgreed- as well as the SanJuan worm have worked for me.Best of luck.D-
Fly-Fisher ;-)Thanks for the links for the Wiggle Bug , I'm gonna go straight to my vice and tie one up!
Fly-Fisher ;-)It don't matter what I fish for, everybody tells me to use a Clouser.
Fly-Fisher ;-)Wiggle bug looks great in my bath tub! Can't wait to try it on the bass in Lee Lake

 | skewl | | skewlYes, I know this video is in spanish, and it's an easy tie, but the interesting part is how the tier whip finishes the fly, I've never seen a fly finished like this. Has anyone else seen it done quite like this? It's kind of a different way to do it and it looks much easier than some traditional methods. (Pardon my newbieness, I still haven't nailed the whip finish)
Fly-Fisher ;-)I think whip finishing is best, not to hard once u do it a few times.
