 | mnolte anyone planning on fishig the puyallup or carbon rivers this year? about 3 months ago | | skyler7122It all depends on the river flow, we should have a decent show of pinks in the rivers this year but puyallup tends to be too packed for my liking.

 | kenny.bruney I'm from the Atchafalaya( pron: AT CHAF A LIE ) Swamp deep south of Louisiana. I came here in '75 and still cain't catch nothin' but a cold, wet gr-ass, and a hungry gut. Cain't seem to get the hang of rods and reels,I guess. People tell me there's bass and crappie and catfish here in Washington, but I ain't caught none. guess I'll mkeep tryin'. OH! Rich Wickberg... I'm gonna try what You're usin' ! I bet I catch somethin ' then. huh?! a year ago | | richard wickbergHey Kenny! Thanks for asking but I'm in the same boat. Grew up in Minnesota, moved to Seattle when I was 10 and learned trout, salmon, saltwater bottomfishing. Now I'm in Spokane and looking for a 'mentor'. Which side of the Cascades do you live near?

 | richard wickberg I've always favored plug cut herring for trolling or bobber fishing for most salmonides except salkeye. I've never had a strike from anything larger than 8" using a lure. All the coho & kings I caught with plug cut herring. I kept the mackeral I caught off the Columbia bar were kept too - Yum. a year ago | | |

Welcome prober a year ago proberThanks! I'll probably just kind of hang in the corners until I get a better idea of what goes on here. I'm rather a newby!
richard wickbergadvertise for a fishing buddy or find new friends experienced with salmon trolling and offer to pay half the costs. Then become a sponge into how the herring is cut, hooked and presented, keep in mind your boat's speed. Good luck!
