  • KonphuzedAlaskan Well we started fishing at the falls at Shanghai bend. There was what appeared to be allot of 12 to 18 in. steel head jumping bit they might also be small jacks. After that there wasn't very much action. It seams that the reports are right they aren't yet heavy in the feather river.

  • tjames5 Heading out to Half Moon Bay tomorrow for a whole day of fun! I'm going to start out poking the jetty at pillar point during the minus tide for monkey face eel. Downside: minus tide is a 6:55am and I live an hour and a half away. Then I am going to target leopards and bat rays on a fly within the bay if they decide to show up. If not I'll switch over to rock fish and sand dabs off the jetty.

    • tjames5I did great i caught quite a few cabazon and rock crabs. however, the leopards didn't show and the bat rays didn't cooperate. I'm going back out this weekend to try again.

  • tjames5 Going out to foster city again under the San Mateo bridge tommorow. Tides are looking perfect and in hoping that the storms we've been having will help the bite. I'll start out for surf perch and smelt then switch over to shark in the evening.

    • tjames5No I ended up going shark fishing instead. No shark however just a surf perch. The weather was absolutely terrible.

    • tthompson18I havent picked up fly fishing YET...I didnt do any fishing this past weekend, weather too foul up here. I ended up doing honydo's instead. Fair trade, she cooked all weekend and I ate like a pig, I think she was happy to have me home for a change!

  • tjames5 Im debating where I should fish this weekend. I would like to go fish near silver lake in the sierras but I'm sure it's snowed out. How is the trout fishing up north? I'd like to fish the trinity this time of year if it's decent

    • tthompson18All the rivers are pretty blown out due to the two systems we've had this week. Freshwater lagoon was supposed to have been stocked with rainbows this week, I dont know if that happened or its rumored to happen. I would check with DFG. Good luck!

  • Northern California Anglers Tomorrow I'm heading out shark fishing under the San Mateo bridge for some leopards using squid. I'm also going to see if some are close and visible enough to throw a fly at. Any one else fish for shark?
