 | sberning Went fishing at a pond in Mauston, WI on Saturday and caught nothing. pond life this summer is BAD. the guy said that a few days ago he went out and there where like 200 fish floating. How do you still catch catfish in this situation?

 | Britt1989 Hi, just wondering what baits people use for carp and catfish. For cats I love to use chicken liver. Only problem I catch more muds than blue. I don't like mud cats much because they are much more aggressive. For carp I use wheaties, spinach, and a half cup of sugar mixed together. It works great for carp. The smallest i caught with it was a 7 pounder, the largest was a 16 pound. What does everyone else use?

Rooster liver is tougher and stays on the hook better than reg chicken liver. lI like to use either whole large gizzard shad or live brim on atleast one pole to try and catch a big cat. I have heard of people using all sorts of bait live and artificial to catch cats, but I use what I can catch with my cast net. I like free bait:)

| Porterhouse1989 just got back from my fishing trip no luck on the cut bait but i did have great luck with leeches i caught 2 cats on them one was almost big enough to fillet the other was 21 1/2 inches and 3Lbs 4oz great fighter this was my first tim fishing with leeches i caught a shad and 3 nice size gar that gave me a good fight all but the one gar was on leeches black leeches hope the luck is good for the rest of the club

 bassnut928This on caught on same lake on worm. measured about 17inches and 5lbs
bassnut928The bass was caught by wife on worm. he was 12inches and about 1 and half pounds caught same day which was last Monday on our favorite lake. She also caught a perch that was a pretty good size also.
