It's great you get your elderly uncle out to fish alot, I'm sure he enjoys the time with you. I'm in Brunswick NY so not to close to Rochester but hey, keep the lines tight and FISH ON. about 8 months ago | | |

Welcome MikeDNY about 11 months ago MikeDNYHello Everyone, I am in Schenectady Ny and fish for eveything from Stripers in the Hudson to Bass and panfish in our many surrounding lakes. I was a very active fisherman many years ago but RL put that on hold. My son is now 9 and the fishing bug has bit him ! Therefore sparked interest again. We are very much interesyed in learning of new techniques and tactics for our local waters. Being out of it for a while I seem a bit rusty and have not been very successful lately. Keep UR worm wiggl'n and I look forward to conversation in this group
jeeper66I moved to Middletown a few years back from Louisiana. I started bass fishing last year seriously and have had good luck. I have had luck on everything from Rebal top waters and Hula Poppers to Rubber baits. For me, the rubber grubs and 4" Motor Oil and Black work well. At least in the ponds I fish. I like to use a weedless hook and let them sink to bottom. Then I just bump them along the bottom. With the Top Waters, i like to bring it in a foot or so and let it set for at least 5 seconds ( I got tired of pulling on it earlier and timing it perfect with a hit, which usually means he will miss!) I still consider myself an amature, but I am out there rain or shine when not working...and I usually catch at least double what my daughter and son-in-law. I think patience is a key difference I have that they dont.
