  • Iowa fishermen Anybody have any good techniques for sight casting bass? I saw a couple good 7 pounders trolling the banks with their heads down appering to be feeding but couldnt get any to attack

    • zayresfishing for me so far this spring has been very spotty. last saturday night was a really good night. i went out on my local resivour for some nighttime bass fishing. strangly i caught 2 channel cats just a tad over 5 lbs and one that was 14 and a half pound.Wondering if maybe it was the "super" moon

    • zayresIm in des moines and do alot of fishing out of reservours of the des moines river fish for catfish and bass most of the time but really want to try for some pike or musky

    • JDMeyerI'm in SW Wisconsin. I fish in the Mississippi River mostly, but I plan on getting back to fishing DBQ county creeks for trout. We like to go on the Miss riv.north of Dubuque and piddle around in our little boat, its nice to get in and around some of the tighter areas. We also get wet north of Guttenburg, Ia fairly often!!

  • JDMeyer I know I am from Wisconsin now, but I started fishing in Iowa and still do. I am mjmeyer's brother, and fish mostly in the Mississippi River, but I like to wet a worm wherever I can. I plan on getting back into Trout fishing on some of the DBQ area creeks again this summer.

    • zayressadly i have only had one chance to fish the mississippi it was last summer trolling for cats. caught alot of big blues and a couple channel cats. what do you like to fish for in the big river?

    • JDMeyerWe generally fish for whatever bites, but really love to get Catfish on warm summer days. Mostly Channel Cats, but we get some Flatheads too. Lately we have been looking for Northern Pike.

    • zayresyeah i too have tried going for pike for the first time this spring. I didnt really know what i was doing honestly but i managed to pick up a couple little guys.
