Welcome rsharp4 about 4 months ago  brimreaperThanks. Where you from in IN? I'm in N VA about 25 miles from Wash DC. Mostly fish jigs from boat at ponds, reservoirs - some rivers. What type fishing do you use - bait or artificial? However, I was raised in southern IN - Bright about 75 miles from Indy or 10 miles from Lawrenceburg. Try to get back every spring for some gil and crp fishing and spring turkey hunt.

 rkraft4You can use Polystic GLO day or night. It recharges every time you take it out of the water. I have "eyes" which you could put on your jigs. Try adding chartreuse on the bottom of your bobber so the crappie can see it. Based on field test it is lethal. It will stick well to small surfaces. Apply at 70 degrees or higher. Apply pressure for 45-60 seconds, full cure occurs in 24-48 hours, but it can be used immediately. use a toothpick to apply to your jig, do not touch the adhesive backing with your fingers. You can cut the strips into any form you would like. Experiment with it, it's fun and it works.

rkraft45 chartreuse, 3 aqua, and 2 red strips. Size: 2" x 1/4". Chartreuse is for general purpose, aqua lateral lines on lures, blades, jig heads or whatever you think may work. Red is designed to give the appearance of a wounded bait fish. There are no rules however, you can cut shapes, patterns or apply to just about anything form tools to cell phones beyond lures. We are determining how to pack "eyes", but they are 1/4" diameter.

 | brimreaper brimreaper Live in N VA and fish mostly resevoirs, lakes and some rivers. In mid Arpil to early JUN, I usually troll - use from 2 - 6 rod. Use a variety of hair jigs, beetle spins, and jig twister tail combo. Over the past 4 or 5 years I began using crappie nibbles on jigs which has significantly improved my catch rate. In the winter ( NOV - JAN) have used minnows cause one of the guys I fish with is strickly a minnow guy. Very effective. He uses large fix bobbers and I use slip bobbers. Over the past year i have used a 6' rod that has a very sensitive tip. Really makes a difference in pick up on shy bites. Also long line which is excellent method too. For twister tails, I catch 85% of crappie (and gils too) on Creme TRI_COLOR Swirl Yails (TST 93)- blue/black is most productive but green can be a winner also. Have to get my buddies who live in TX or SC to get them at their WalMart since they don't carry it in local Wal Mart. Been keeping a fishing log for the past few years - recommend it highly. Was out on 12 JAN - slow day for this honey hole - still my buddy and I each caught 25 - all on minnows! Slow bite. Let me hear how you guys are doing.
