    • jjones84Welcome to the group junebug92. If the ice don't come to you then go to the ice, I had alot of good luck going north west last year. I hope be able to fish closer to home this year, it got a little expensive going to Ludington every weekend for two months. I heard that it could get below 30 at night this weekend, first ice could be just a few months away. I hope to hear some good fish reports from you come January.

    • SteellordI did not even make it out last ice season, there was no ice to speak of out on Lake St. Clair.

    • jjones84I had to spend a lot of the winter north west mainly Onekama and Cadillac, I was only able to get on Island Lake once, which is a shame because there are some big pke there for the pickings.

    • SteellordLast season I purchased a new Clam flip-over shanty, a new big buddy heater, and a new 4" lazer hand auger and did not get a chance to use any of it. I'm hoping for an extended ice season this year.

    • jjones84Is your shanty a one man, I might have the same one. The design makes it easy run when things get a little skecthy, had it happen in Cadilac after some idiot did donuts on the ice, just flip the top and run, and the two cup are perfect for holding for holding bait in one and hot coffee in the other.

    • SteellordI picked up a Clam Kenai last year, I needed something to be more mobile on Lake St. Clair. I was using a Clam 2000 cabin style shelter before that. That shanty is nice if you're on a lake where you don't need to move alot to catch fish. But chasing the perch on St. Clair you need to be mobile.
