 | Washington Fishing 8 Washington Representitives have introduced HB 2241 to ban the sale of lead fishing products less than 1 oz or 1 inch at its shortest axis. Any thoughts? a year ago | | YellowBearI got word a few days ago that this has been removed from the table in Washington. The 8 Reps that brought this up should in my opinion be replaced.

 | wdavis10 hey again, we just got back from the kenai river - had a good time and now can say been there done that! Things are changing up there - they talk of a one halibut limit and poss. one silver. Both species are getting smaller and amaller and they just can't figure out why. Of course when you see that ship go by out there and it has a quarter mile net bhind it and they are dragin the bottom well......glad I went but probably wont go back as the fishin is as good here in wash. Must poet I did not go up for kings - it is a one fish limit and at the lodge the largest was 42lbs for the year nice but in my opinion not worth the high cost of living up there and the expense of everything included - had to do it once though!!!! about 2 years ago | | |

 | YellowBear What do you guys think of the WDFW?
Personally, I feel we need fewer Bio's and more enfourcement.
I would also like to know how you feel about all of the Hybrid projects we have going on.
Triploids.
Cut-Bows.
Lahotions.
Tiger Trout.
Tiger Musky. about 2 years ago | | HossinonimusI would like to see the State stop kiling off good bass lakes to plant trout that don't get fished much anyway. And then the bass, perch, etc make it back into the lake again just to have the State come in and kill the lake to plant more trout. If you want to see more enforcement, come with me sometime. I have been checked by more wardens than most people see in a lifetime. lol. In fact, one day about 15 years ago, a buddy and I were fishing Moses Lake in his boat and got checked while we were beached in the south end. We went home, picked up his mom, and headed out to Potholes later that afternoon to fish the dam for walleye and smallmouth. The same warden pulled up, waved us over and checked us again. 2 license and boat registration checks within a matter of hours by the same guy! You wouldn't believe how many times I've been contacted by a game warden after someone said, "I've never seen a warden out here".
YellowBearI have to admit that I did get checked one time this year sofar. Second time in 15 years, lol.
according to the WDFW Trout are the number one choice of anglers in Washington State. I am not sure were they get that information but I am sure they are mistaken. Most anglers that I talk to would much rather have warmwater species, Bass being number one.
Captain QuantumI think killing off a lake every 15 years (like they do to Badger and I think Williams) is disgraceful. Lakes are better when they contain a variety of species. Not just trout. How are any giants suppose to grow when you keep killing off the lake? Sure, you can introduce big "planters" but that's not the same as a fish that has grown for 10 years hidden in the lake.
YellowBearI think if a lake gets full of fish like Carp or tench then kill it off. If the lake gets a population of gamefish introduced to it then let it run its corse. I think the idea that the WDFW knows better than mother nature is just arrogant. Shallow muddy bottom lakes like Sprague, liberty, Windmill, Heart and many others produce some nasty taisting Trout.
