  • catking Ok lets get a list of the 10 best lures/baits for Bass fishing... I really have no starting point other than large spinners or minnows. I spend most of my time catfishing but would like to even it out.

    • wharris4Hello catking i and a friend of mine have had success with the good "OL" Jitterbug in the black color , I aldo like to use a "Hula Popper" in the bass color scheme, but the old red and white works well also. If it's live bait you want crawlers, toby's, or clippers are also great , don't forget soft shell crabs.

    • izabarberMy go to bait is the heddon flatfish 2 to 2 1/2 inch. silver and the frog seem to do the best for me.
      12:07 AM March 06
    • pawof3I like to use a small football jig with a simular colored crawfish attached.

    • bft200I tend to depend on plastic worms of various colors or large three-inch grubs attached to large bass hooks. I use smaller grubs and smaller hooks as another alternative. Spinnerbaits are another option. Depending on the water depth and location I choose between floating and sinking lures.

  • JGrenier Hello all! Just joined the group. The only fish I caught this year so far were two avereage size smallies, nice health fish though. Got em on a baby bass meatloaf shad. Im up in New Hampshire, so theres still a bit of ice on all the lakes and ponds, so Ive been hittin the river above the dams. Looking forward to shareing tips and stories with other anglers. Send me a message or friend request any time. Tight lines all!
