  • Nor Cal Lake Fishing 8/21/2011 Trinity is still poppin, even in the late summer. The trout bite was at about 40 and evening surface feeders were out loving the weather, making a perfect evening for casting.

  • submerged Whiskeytown and Trinity Lakes both gave up a few more fish this weekend. Pulled a 17-18" suckerfish out of whiskeytown on saturday, on sunday Trinity gave up a 17" bass and a 11" trout. All caught on the same plug I found in a garage somewhere years ago. It has to be from the 70's. I'm glad I found a couple because I think that company has disappeared, I have searched and cannot find similar plugs.

  • submerged Whiskeytown lake is still providing nice top-water fishing even in our warmer temperatures. Yesterday at 6:05 am I got a new personal record out of this lake. Beautiful trout - 20.5 inches and 1.75 lbs on an empty stomach. We forgot the net so I had quite a bit of fun making sure tired before it got the boat. Swallowed to lure completely, had to harvest the fish, but it was given to a family in need several hours later.
