  • New Jersey Fishermen Fished both days last weekend. Saturday we had 16 fish which were mostly bluefish. Sunday we had 21 fish with 20 stripers and we didn't even have to troll.

  • New Jersey Fishermen 27 fish total Sunday morning before noon. 12 Stripers and 15 bluefish. Not too bad of a day, windy as hell though, running only 3 knots and waves were crashing over the bow. Good thing we don't get sea sick.

  • New Jersey Fishermen Fished Merrill Creek yesterday, got two nice lake trout, one nice rainbow trout and the biggest yellow perch I've ever seen (almost 2 pounds). My buddy just called and rubbed it in that he has twenty two stripers to the net in Barnegat Light.

  • Rayder98 I'm sorry to hear about your surgery. I hope it works out for you. They don't make it easy to post pictures here. I've tried a couple of times but I don't think I've done it right.

    • mthomanHey Rayder, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I'm in Hamilton NJ near Trenton. I have a tough time with the pictures too, looking for a solution to the problem, if I find one I'll let you know. Where do you usually go for bass?

  • amola12345 Hi, I fish all waters in New Jersey that I can get to and afford to. Been doing alot of striper fishing lately but just had spinal surgery so that kind of screwed things up but depending on how I feel, Im going to give it a shot. Caught some nice fish but no monsters, couldnt get out the as often as Id like but I have a feeing about saturday. Gonna try to send photos, first time im doing it, hope it works.

    • mthomanVery nice on the striper fishing, catching them on bunker, bucktails or trolling? Sorry to hear about the surgery, a few years ago I had a rod put into my leg and my hip rebuilt so I understand being down. I have the same issue putting up pictures, I found that you have to put them in a designated folder, then find them with the browser tool, but they sometimes turn sideways.

    • amola12345Hi, I find the larger stripers I catch using bunker chuncks but Ive caught some nice ones usinf bloodworms but you know how expensive they ca be. Always had good luck in the Hudson River between Englewood boat basin on south to Edgewater and even better at the chartHouse restaurant parking lot in Weekkawken New jersey. I dont care if my back is killing me, its supposed to be nice out and Im going. Keep trying, I usually fish till Thanksgiving. I was so broke once that I sat at Weehaken in the snow trying to catch my Thanksgiving Striper but no luck, I just frooze. Thanks for writing. amola12345

  • Rayder98 I guess I'll join this one too. I do more bass fishing than salt water fishing. Still, I'm always looking to learn new things.

  • New Jersey Fishermen Went striper fishing this weekend off Barnegat Light and got the skunk, it's rare that it happens but it does. Hoping to get up to Merrill Creek Reservoir this weekend, heard that the lake trout are starting to chew on jigging spoons and live herring. Can't wait to get one of the 15 pound monsters in the boat.
