 | crappiedaze Hi all maybe the name is a giveaway but i do love crappie fishing I live in missouri where most lakes ponds and larger rivers hold a lot of crappie .
about 9 months ago | |  brimreaperHi. Don't see a lot of activity.... so thought I would chime in. Live in N VA and predominatly fish crappie and sunfish. Mostly use artificial jigs; but have buddies that are die hard minnow guys! Do lots of trolling in the spring. Most of the lakes, resevoirs, I fish have small crappie - usually 8 - 10" which is small by most standards. MY buddy finally broke down and took me to his honey hole on Potomac River - crappie are much better range from 10 - 14" and have shoulders! Got a buddy that lives in Waynesboro - did some fishing there last year. Know there is better crappie fishing than the few lakes I got to but bluegils were 8 - 9". Use crappie nibbles to tip my jigs, Caught most crappie on 2" Creme tri-color twister tail in blue black. went to really light tip rods last year which seems to help when the bite is very light. Let me know what you are using. Did get out on 12 JAN and two of us got 25 each which is excellent for here Many were in 12" range.
