 | Porterhouse1989 So i bought my girlsriend a new catfish fighter rod n reel combo (spinning) for christmas and we put 30lb suffix 832 superline braid on it and she cant wait to try it out but shes not a winter fishin person lol and i got a new rod n reel i got a 7 foot white ugly stik catfish pole and a daiwa reigal spinning reel its a wench i have neon lime green 65lb suffix 832 superline braid on it went sat to test it with ol T-bone and caught nothin but a cold hand how bout yall anyone get a new rod or reel or takle for christmas?

about 6 months ago | |  Kameroni run 65lb test braid on a 7'0 berkley rod with an abu garcia spinning reel on it. I run a wire leader to one hook and another braided leader to a second hook about 12" apart... Depending on conditions outside (wind, current, etc.) I will throw a 1 3/4 oz. Egg weight above the first leader line... so far it works like a charm...i wish i had a 10' casting rod with a baitcaster for further casts since i dont have a boat but all in good time! :-)

 | crowe67 Hi guy's ain't been on site much been working a lot how's the cat fishing going the drought played hell with the pond's and lake's around hear seen a lot of fish dead i tried cat fishing but no good just a few small one's hung the poles up for awhile going to go some time and hope it get's better this coming year
