    • rmonnLook for Utica (starved rock ) rt 178 go south 7 miles and you will find it. public access at the bridge or at river rafting spot.

  • tgamby3 Hi everyone, Im looking for a good catfish spot near or in morris, ill. I live in chicago but always go to morris to fish at the state park. I catch more white bass than catfish. Im a shore fisherman, hope someone can tell me a good spot......my brother wants to try northern,ill this year also so if anyone knows about a good catfishing spot that way i would love to know.....thanks.....happy hooking & good angling

    • jpattinIf you are looking for a new Bass spot, they have opened the Rookery lake on RT6 & Young st in Channahan,IL. That is near Joliet,IL. I have shore fished there and have caught Bass averaging 1.5 - 2 lbs. I know there are some lunkers in there, will have to bring boat in this year. The lake is a trolling motor only lake. Also, no messing around at these lakes. The DNR is there and doing a great job to make sure the lakes are not fished out. There is 3 lakes here, 1 accessible by boat, the other 2 are shore fishing.     • jpattinI'm in Morris, but work near the lakes. I've had good luck in the middle lake. You have to hike around the lake and down the hill a crossed from the deck. Have pulled out a couple 2.5 lb bass there using a Live Target Blue Gill crank. I have heard if you can get to the lake next to Young St, there are some lunkers in there.
