So this is the year I am getting very serious about fishing. Not that I am not out to have fun, just that I am no longer happy with what I have known. I am making a study of fishing. I finally have a beautiful fishing boat that I can venture out on Mille Lacs lake in Minnesota. I have never jigged in my life, I have always trolled for fish. The adventure is going to be awesome. Hope to see some of you out on the lake! All hints and fishing spots welcome! LOL Good Fishing! 4/17/2012 6:56:47 PM

Ice fishing started off slow for walleyes but we caught alot of pike and perch back in the bays of lake sakakawea. we got tired of that and got serious pulling the topo of the lake and finding the old river channel and were it got closest to our side. Found that point. went straight out and found a ledge that drops from 30 ft to 100 ft in about 100 yards started popping holes and caught a sauger within 10 minutes of getting all the lines in. we've been going out regularly and catching quite a few sauger in between 16 and 22 inches..lots of fun when you do the work, and find the fish,.....walleyes have been pretty elusive this winter on the big lake..but we find a few here and there. 3/8/2012 4:19:20 AM
