be careful in accepting the free gift......they'll order items on your card, prior to getting permission.. it takes weeks to get the charges off your card. |

Definitely Got My Attention!! How about sharing some more about whole sale jewelery company. Obviously, you know what you are talking about but some of the rest of us are in the dark. As NAFC Life Member I like to keep on top of things. Please share details about your experience! Uncle Tom

| I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country. |

MEMBERSHIP INFRINGEMENTS!! Some of us paid a great price for success in this crazy world. Fishing is an outlet for me to get away from every body who has a cell phone or post card. If our LEADERSHIP doesn't think anymore of its MEMBERSHIP than to sell our names, addresses, & phone numbers to every Susie or Johnnie trying to get up the corporate ladder with some get rich quick plan, then maybe we ought to throw the whole board out. I took pride in becoming a member two years ago. Since then, I have bought enough books and DVD's to add a room onto the house. I've gone through the regular member, life member, trophy life member, and can hardly wait for the sapphire club. But for heaven's sakes American Legacy knives made in China, or Havalon Baracuta Pro Fillet Knife with quick change blades that "Never Lose Their Edge" with replacement blades $14.95/5 pack or silver proof National Fishing Grand Slam Collection of Largemouth Bass or jewelry. I've been fishing long enough to tell when to set the hook and friends we are no longer a group of fishermen but a group of "suckers" who ought to know the Hook Has Been Set, way beyond anyone's kreel limit and I FEEL BETRAYED! I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO FISH FOR SENDING NOTICES BACK. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! Uncle Tom I believe with all my heart in the membership of NAFC but like this nation if we continue in this direction it will cease to exist and that is a shame--it breaks my heart! |

Tom I agree with you 100%. I got one of those cards today for a free jewelry gift, and soon as I got into the house it went right into the round file. I wasn't born yeaterday and I sure didn't fall off the turnip truck this morning. They say a sucker is born every minute, I'm not one of them. NAFC take your jewelry offer and put it where the sun don't shine. Harry |

Got my card two days ago re: Holsten Jewerly...Really??? Do I or anyone else really wants or needs jewerly to remind us of fishing? Really??? Threw it out, and I suggest you all do the same. NAFC should spend more time sending qaulity and useful gifts such as lures or good quality hooks (Gamakatsu) not those cheap southbend panfish hooks that they send with everything. How about some Seaguar Flurocarbon Leader??? I've got enough books on how to "catch fish", don't need anymore. I know when to set a hook, and know not to set the hook when using circle hooks...Oh well...just venting abit...Tight Lines everyone... |

Dapted, Good question! Before I give you the answer, let me make it perfectly clear, I joined this club for all the great information & fellowship I get from these forums. Its like sitting in the ole general store around a pot bellied stove. My Dad meets with a group of men every morning before going fishing--they call it the "Liars Club" and unofficially he is the CEO. Dad introduced me to bass fishing at a very young age. Recently in going through some old tackle boxes I found a lure that I remembered from my childhood in the early 1950's. Thought I would find several for his birthday in September--he will be 84 and still fishes every day. Captain Jim Strader who made the lures says on the package: "My business depends upon your fishing success. After many years of experience I have designed this lure for the express purpose of helping you take fish." I know he made at least three different designs (maybe more) two of which were known as "Diamond Jim and Diamond Rattler! Both of these lures had eyes attached that looked like cut diamonds. I am sure some of our members could tell us more. You don't have to have jewelry to catch fish but Diamond Jim's still catch fish. I have retired mine for fear of losing it. Good luck, Great Fishing and welcome to NAFC whose purpose is to help all of us catch fish. Special thanks to all of those Captain Jim Strader's out there. Since "Sweetie" has the weekend off I think I'll take her fishing. Uncle Tom
