If anyone at NAFC listens to it's members,something has to be done with this northeastbass guy.  We as club members are sick and tird of this guy shoving his advetising down our throats about his website business. Does he have the Clubs permission to palce ads and vidieos on the forum so he can make money off of it.  This guy is a pain in the a#* and needs to be stopped or banned from the forum. 

He is causing alot of hate and discontent among the forum users.  We see enough advertising on TV we don't need it on here too.  PLEASE DO SOMETHING AND STOP THIS GUY.

I agree with you on this one Basbandit.

To me it's the same as someone going into Burger King and
holding up a sign and telling everyone to go over to McDonalds.

the club does come down on these guys and throw them out....it just takes them a bit of time.....
has anyone e-mailed the club or write or phone about this? most of the time it takes us complaining about it to get them to start at least checking in on it.

in the past we had a couple of guys that were really big pains and they got booted.....and they would come back in under a different user name so on and so forth. i remember 1 guy getting booted 3 times in 1yr under a different name before the club figured out what he was doing. but i think that guy was on the hunting club site not this 1.

I see this recurrence happening over the past several years...it's been like the forums has changed/updated like three times so that's how long I've seen this type of thing going on. Steve vonBrandt is exercising his right as a member. He offers his website as informational as well as offering those businesses that sponsor his website. It's not much different than someone saying come to my facebook or someone saying buy from this company or that company because they provide great customer service or something. In fact part of the club philosophy is recommending services that members have recieved to other members as well as warning other members of poor customer services and such.

As long as the topic of discussion can stay on track...that's what's important.

You hit the nail on the head Bob and there in lies the problem. the discussion doesn't stay on track. Eveytime someone differant psot a comment he has to cut them down about thier opnionon on a subject, and only his opnion counts and then he goes into his sales pitch and thats BS. Just like the Banjo Minnow thread, A guy ask a question we gave him our honest opinions and he goes off like a wild man. Next thing you know he is calling Dave an idot and anyone else who dissagrees with him. The guy is a jerk and just needs to go away is all I'm saying.

I've read the forums since around 2001 and way back then, there was a whole lot of self promoting things. Far worse than what's happening today. Far worse people posting, then copying the same post and posting it in several other subforums. It's gets really old, answering one question, then getting like 10 more questions of the very same nature, sometimes from 5 different people. So in a sense, it's only right to say, go read the answers here or there. It used to be a total pet peeve of mine when people promote a link to some other site. The whole concept of having a Bulletin Board is for informational, open discussions. However there's an ideal cyber culture and then there's the reality of cyber culture that reflects real life. Often it's the lack of proper courtesy to even posting something in the right subforum. Then again, we have a very disorganized forum site to work with. Look what we have going on.

The Banjo Minnows thread is a good example. How many Banjo Minnows thread are we gonna have? There will always be a new one. It's no different for the what's the best lure or bait threads or the baitcasting vs spinning reel threads. There will always be a new one, yet the information will probably never change. It gets old for someone always answering and never getting the proper thanks afterwards. I try to keep an open mind, but sometimes, I crack and vent at what I feel is idiotic post by someone. That makes me no better, but that's lowering my level down.

Truly I feel the problems with pent up frustrations over repetitious FAQ's for FAQ's (frequently answered questions for frequently asked questions) is Frustrated At Questions that people just don't know how being on both sides of the fence. I used to be ignorant too, but I learned by reading. I don't get worked over personalities on the forums anymore. I will have a debate over differences in ideas, give my supporting facts and give my conclusions. If someone else shows the same, I can keep it respectable. If all they do is regurgitate at what I post, well that's proof to me that they don't deserve a true level headed discussion. I've had my shares in forum drama. Those things will never stop becuase there's always someone wanting to show their arrogance or something. Carp fishing guys will hate Bass fishing guys. Bass fishing guys will hate Trout fishing guys. Some of these things are just that way. LOL's I laugh about it at times. People gotta have their fill of drama.

Harry is actually pertty easy the Next time northeast post's (or anyone else) a derogitory (sp) post just go to the upper right corner and click on the Alert symbol this will bring up a area to send a message to the Club!!!!!!! hope this helps ya out I've reported him in the past when he was here under a different name go figure.

The individual in question is on the third user name that I can recall. I don't know if he just changes names or these are new memberships. Yes, the attitude that only his oppinion counts and the only fish worth angling for is bass gets a bit tiresome. 4 or 5 posts in Tackle today, I'm sure they all say the same thing.  Tom

Harry it's all we can do, If I remember right he was banned from the club once before but for some reason they have allowed him back or they don't realize it's him with a new name . I for one would like to see the confrontational post's and people like him go away!!!!!!!

I am going to take a page out of your play book basbandit. STOP WHINING, maybe the club enjoys this guys tactics. Did you join the club just to have a forum to whine about your issues? Enjoy the magazine and STOP WHINING.

bford first let me welcome you to the club and forum. Second I not whinning. Your new to the forum so may not have any idea what was going on when I made my post. This forum is for passing on information and tips to outher members and not for personial adverstising. Northeastbass was doing just that. Pushing his website on us to sell tackle. His opnions were the only ones that counted and would cut down anyone who had anything different to say. He even went as far as to theraten other members because they disagreed with him. I've been a Life Member since 1997 and a Trophy Life Member since 2009 and I felt I had the right to defend our forum from the carp he was putting out. So before you acuse me of whinning please get your facts streight. If you take a pole I believe that 99% of the forum users would agree with me on this one. The guy needed to go, we didn't need all that drama and bad langue. Again welcome and have a great day and thanks for your input.

I read the posts and replies on a weekly basis, I simply do not feel the need to reply to a great number of them. As for this person you are talking about, you should have used my technique (simply not responded to him) if he bothered you that much. Patience is a virtue my friend, self control is too. I noticed you slammed a few people for bad mouthing the club, because they voiced their opinions about the product testing. Just because I (you or anyone else) has an opinion about something regarding the club that you disagree with, doesn't make your opinion correct it just makes it your opinion. I do agree with you on one aspect, this forum is for sharing (views, techniques, stories, even opinions) so if you want to be a supporter of the forums then you need to learn to take things with a grain of salt. Especially if a fellow member has gotten the shaft with product testing. Happy fishin' from the UP.
