I have a comment about people at website complaining about the NAFC and I am not sure where and how to post it for NAFC members to read. I will paste it here: Let’s Set the Record Straight and Show Support for our Club As a Trophy Life Member and being a member for thirteen years, I would like to take a moment to bring to your attention the negative remarks against the NAFC in the URL complaintboard.com. Let people know in your rebuttal to ask any NAFC member they may run into since we wear the logo proudly on our clothing, vehicles, tackle boxes, etc.to help set the record straight.

Everything the NAFC has ever promised to me has been delivered as for the magazine and contests which I have never won, but then again I have not won the lottery either. So should I go out and bad mouth the state. As for product testing, I have received many Items and have never been billed for the test product. I have not been lucky enough to test a boat and keep it, but even small items as fish hooks, new artificial baits, pliers, etc. has been beneficial in being helpful in catching more fish and bringing them into the boat or shore to either be released or the main entrée for the evening dinner. I have been sent products for my inspection to decide if I would like to purchase them and if I declined the return label was included with the postage and I have never been billed. The only reason some of these complainers want to smear the good name of the NAFC is that he or she procrastinated and did not sent the product back within the time period that is in the documentation. I sent an email once to request permission to make copies of their knot tying brochure to hand out to the scouts on a fishing outing and the NAFC responded within the next day with their consent. So I can honestly say they do review and answer the emails. Just remember, that the NAFC is growing and I can only imagine the amount of emails they receive on a daily basis. I guess I have gotten this out of my system (not really); I would like to ask my fellow members to go to the above web site in my first paragraph and help set the record straight. I see some NAFC members have rebutted the different complaints already, but let’s take a few minutes to overwhelm the negative grouches. May I ask one last request and take your children and grandchildren fishing. I have found it to be the best stress reliever and you’ll be amazed at how much you can learn about each other, fish biting or not.

    Good fishing to all,

My only complaint is that there aren't any more beers in my refrigerator! I like the club!

    Scott,

Thank you very much for advocacy for the Club -- and for taking kids fishing. We are lucky to have members like you!

Would it be OK if, from time to time, we used your testimonial, in whole or part, to advocate for the Club in various media platforms? Such advocacy means much more when it comes from a Trophy Life Member, rather than a salaried employee like myself.

    Regards, and thanks again!

    Greg,

I am honored that NAFC finds value in my blog. NAFC has my permission to use any parts that would benefit the organization and to help in recruiting new members. If you need a signed attachment, send me an email with any forms that need to be signed and I will sign them, scan them, and email back per your instructions.

After all, members need to support each otherjust  as the NAFC did in giving me permission a few years back to reproduce the knot tying brochure so that I could help get the cubs scouts interested in fishing. It started out as just for the den for my one grandson and the next thing I knew I was getting calls from other den leaders in the pack if their dens could participate and many parents asked if I could help teach their children the basics of fishing.

Of course I agreed, but with one stipulation. The parent had to take part in learning with their kids as they bashfully admited they had never learned when they grew up and if it was not for the scouts and my volunteering, they would probably never thought about fishing as a family activity.

So fellow members, if you get a chance to bring along one of your kids friends extend the opportunity not only to the child, but one or both of the parents. Don't forget the shoreline lunch.

Good fishing and be safe this Memorial Day Weekend,

    Scott Lewis, Trophy Life Member
