This new change is just another to keep the members confused so they can't ever decide whether they are being ripped off or not. I hate this format and I'm not far from hating this club.

I was like you yesterday lycotrout. thought my lifetime membership had expired but I found out I was still alive. either that or my work was blocking my access to the website.

    Hello Hidoug,

I'm sorry for the confusion. As you may know the site was down Sunday and into Monday morning and since this change was in the works it was decided to make the transition a little early. Thanks for your patience during the bumpy ride. There are some bugs that will be worked out but overall this should provide a faster site and forum with some added technical benefits being rolled out.

There are some new discussion topics on the very bottom of the Fishing Club Forum that will show people how to use the new system, make test posts to try different features out and report bugs.

    Hi All,
Just want to give a bit of an explanation on the changeover. We were building out this new forum with new functionality, etc, and as we got really close to the end, we started to have site issues on Sunday night and Monday morning at the server level on the actual site, we started spinning some time to fix those issues, and ultimately just made the decision to cut over now to the new forums. We apologize for the lack of a notice because of that, but realized it made little sense to spend time working on a forum that was going away in a week or so, and was probably better to just rip the band aid off and get to work on this new forum.

I think you guys will like this new forum, it has a number of new features, like posting pictures in line, custom sort options that you can choose, etc. We also have a new community manager to help answer questions, hear suggestions, and talk fishing. Because of the quick turnover, we aren't done, and will be listening to your feedback as to how we can make this forum better.

    Thanks all!

Thanks for my post count back NAFC.

Now where are the PMs at???????

Private Messaging will be back in action but there are some other things being worked on at the moment.

Please migrate issues you're having down to the "Using the Forums" heading below the state threads. There you can post issues with bugs in the "Report Bugs Here" section where they will be seen first.

    Thanks.

Can't say one way or the other yet on this "new" look! But I do not like the fact that no notice was given, or even a hint of the site being changed. Let's see what number of post this old lifer gets. Lifer since 1997

I still do not like it!  With the contests, you now have to type in a code to enter the contests!  WHY?  Once you are logged in and verified as a member that should be sufficient.  The remember button does not seem to "remember" your log in either.  Two days in a row I hahve had to use my last name an memeber number in order to get onto the site.  This is pure B.S.

    Hello Skycop,
"With contests, you now have to type in a code to enter contests! WHY?"

The verification code keeps people from using artificial means to enter repeatedly and have an unfair advantage. I can see your point and will make sure it gets brought up. Having human intervention to type characters from an image is pretty standard these days for contests and it was perceived as a necessary precaution.

If you can email me your last name and member number I can look into why your account isn't remembering the password. Please email me before tomorrow evening at wthomsen@namginc.com

Well I started this complaint forum and will add this. You changed my password TWICE, first time threw you told me that it had to be 7 characters long, then when I did get in you RESET it with a 4 character passsword. I have read threw my fellow members comments and see that many have the same feelings that I do... For what ever reason you made the changes on the fly, you haven't responded to why you didn't inform us.... If you can send out the newsletter why wasn't a mass email done to those of us who recieve it??? Club NAFC please look before you leap... If you knew ahead of time that you were making a mass change why didn't we get a warning in the club mailings???

They have posted in several areas, that they had some sort of issues with the site and the old servers. Their resolution was to go ahead and implement the new site/forums that they were working on and going to be releasing soon anyways. It happens, and apparently you have to be an IT person, or something in order to understand that things like that do happen.

I can't believe what I'm reading here. This is a fishing club not a computer literacy group. I have never had any trouble with passwords or logging in, Things change, sometimes for the better and sometmes not. That's what happens in life. IF your not happy with it then don't use it. Not everything in life or fishing goes directly as planned and if you have to get your cards out and look up your member numbers instead of passwords once in a while, think of it like having to figure out a diffrent pattern like when the fish wont' bite what your so use to throwing. Grow up and stop complaining about things that no one has controll over like technical problems and enjoy the fishing.
    I fish, Therefore I am......

Have any other members started getting heavy spam since the switch? It may be coincidence but the last few days I have been hit hard. Tom
