Definitely not a security glitch.
There is a group of viruses / malware that started just before Christmas. They are variations of ones that have been out since 2003.
Our fellow Life Member turnip caught a variation...and over the last couple of days...I was able to help him get rid of SOME of the files involved...but there were 5 files we couldn't delete.
To make matters worse...the malware was blocking ALL ".exe" type files...so that you couldn't run almost ALL antivirus-antimalware programs.
We got rid of SOME files involved by just looking in Temp & Temp Internet File folders.
We then did a Right Click on one we couldn't delete...and did a scan with Microsoft Security Essentials (software he has on his computer)...and that got rid of more.
Then we did an online scan from this website...got rid of more stuff... http://go.eset.com/us/online-scanner
Then today I discovered this scan software...and since the extension at the end of the download isn't ".exe"...we were able to run it...and destroyed a LARGE amount of stuff http://www.superantispyware.com/onlinescan.html
