Well this is my first post here but I'm very involved with Nebraska fishing forum. Anyway onto my story. I have always raced motorcross since I was a kid and am now 36. Three years ago it was the last race of the season and I had the whole shot but overshot first 90ft table then got chucked another 90ft off the second table out of control long story short I exploded my feet cause that's all I could think to land on good thing because I'm sure I would have been paralyzed! Amputation or foot fusion were my choices so I had feet fused and this has basically left me handicapped. But to cure the old competative edge I took up tournament bass fishing and fell in love. I've alwAys fished but now I really am obsessing and I don't care it's one of the few things I can do and still beat some guys! Hope this gives Someone else the spark to get after it and don't give up fish and win! Classic here I come! Hope to meet so

I am glad you are doing as well as you are after such a ordel , i am disabled also & i went through a period of depression that i am sure you can relate to. I use to be a kickboxer and loved martial art's more than anything , i also loved to hunt . After a near death incident at work which left me paralyzed from the neck down and in a coma for a few day's i woke up on life support hearing a doctor say lets see ( if ) he can breathe on his own ! My wife , a Godly woman never gave up or eccepted the doctors news about how if i survivrd the next few hours i would be a vegetable, and i would have to be placed in a home. Well God has the last word and after six days i walked out of the hospital, i wasn't paralyzed anylonger i did go through shoulder surgery and i had some brain damage but all in all i can't complaine , i gained 130 pounds and i can't walk or stand for more than a minute or so , but thank God i am alive and eventhough i can't compete in the ring anymore or hunt i found i was able to fish ! I haven't fished in years before my accident but now i go every chance i get. Fishing is my new love ! i enjoyed it alot as a boy but now it has even more meaning to me . We all need to appreciate each day as if it were our last , because someday it will be . Best of luck on the tournament , i am glad you are still competitive . GOD BLESS YOU !

i enjoyed reading both of your guys stores and very thankful that you both are able to get out and enjoy something. GOD does do wonderful things in peoples lives and it sounds like HE has touch both of yours in a way that we never expected to be touched.

Thanks guys for sharing your stories .I am diasabled with a life threating illness the Doctors gave me 5 years to live in 1992.I put my trust in God which is a word that does not even discribe what is beyond are understanding to comprhend.I feel the presence of the Master when I am fishing.It is a testament to the God that is in you that you are able to take lifes challenges and continue even with such great adversity.Keep up the good fight!

hello padhopper, your story is very inspiring as well ! I am happy  to hear that God has worked a mighty miracle in you as well. Remember you can do all thing's through christ who strengthen's you ! grab hold of God's word and never let go , He will never leave you or forsake you ! Remember what the word of God say's , God is not a man that he should lie. Just take the fathers hand , he is your rock & fortress , a mighty place in time of trouble !
