Hudson river from Troy Dam to Fort Edward is catch and release only due to GE pcb's dredging. Anyway i started in Champlain canal at Mecanicsville, New York behind police station @ 5 am, caught 13" smallmouth and 2 ciscos. As current was fast & i was loosing alot of hooks to snags i went north to lock 5 in Schylerville. Fishing the backwater caught 1 perch 3 largemouths and 70+ ass'td sunnies, one right after another. Most where 8-16 ounces more big than small. Caught one monster bluegill 15" long had bottom of tail bitten off. Action was nonstop. A father and son came told me he'd caught a 30" pike week b4. He caught a 4#largemouth using a small sunnie w/a slip bobber casting into some slime near the old lock. and a couple more.

As Jerry Reed sang, "When you're Hot, You're Hot" and apparently you had the hot ticket on that day. Been many years since I had a day like that.
