The gray pull down is blocking my name and my Avatar. I had already sent a email and posted a question about this since the change. You give us a max.size and can't go any bigger and if we go smaller you won't see it at all. I have posted this similar just maybe it will get the club's attention. But apparently the club don't care what happens as long as we continue to buy from the store and pay dues. So the CEO' can fly around and get free fishing trips and tax free because it being used for the TV show or the magazine. All I ask this simple question and they don't give you the time of the day.

Windows 8 , Vista Home. My lap top show the the same thing. So it's not my system, it's the web site.

IMHO....if it was the website...LOTS of others would have the same problem.

Does your laptop also have the same IE8 and Vista?

Also...how large was the picture that you uploaded as your Profile pic?

Here's how to check it. Go to your Public Profile, then click on Edit Profile Picture. Right Click on your picture...then click on Properties...it should say what the Dimensions (length x height) in pixels. Or if that isn't listed...go to the Summary Tab and click on the Advanced button...and check for Dimentions there.

If it's a fairly large pic (say 600x600), that may be what's causing the problem.

    Mine is about 350x250.

If that isn't causing it...check the Properties & Settings of your Monitor Screen. Minimize all open Windows so you can see your Desktop, Right Click, then click on Properties...and check the settings in there.

I DO know that if the length x width setting isn't correct at that point...you will have problems on certain websites...but not all.

Hope this helps...and I'll check back on here in a couple of days

I just check out the size of the avatar it is 122 X 125 Pixel 7109 bytes. So it is small enough, I tried to put larger size in but it kept saying to large. It's not me, it has to be the website, never had this problem since they changed the page. Also my laptop has the same thing as the desk top.

    Hi Dennis,

This was passed on to me and it took a little while to figure out what was going on. I tried your login and my login in Explorer, Firefox and Chrome and only noticed the problem in your account and formatting was only pushed over in Explorer.

After more troubleshooting it turns out your image is seen as some kind of special "ASP.NET Generic Handler" file and not an image file. It's enough of a jpg (or whatever it's original form is) to be seen in the browser, but not enough of a standard format the system is looking for to be able to resize it.

I converted it to a png file and reposted it and everything seems to be working fine. The Explorer browser has special ways of reading ASP- Active Server Pages and is trying to do something more than just look at that image and let it be shrumk down for it's location by the gray navigaiton bar.

The short version: When I converted the image it also shrunk it down a little. Are you able to find another version of that image or convert the one you posted into a jpg, tif, png, bmp or other more standard format and then refresh your avatar? That shoud get you back to the normal size for your avatar and the system generated smaller size for the personal space above the gray manu bar.

If you have any more issues or questions you can email me at my direct account: wthomsen@namginc.com

Thanks for your patience! We haven't seen this one yet so it took a little longer to figure out.

    Wes

Wes, That will be no problem for me for being friends, it was just getting fustrating. I had posted this problem several times and then tossingrods suggested to copy or take a photograph the page. Sorry abut the comment about free trips (temper). I'll be happy when it does get fixed, I was thinking of replacing the avatar with another one.  I can see my inbox and Alerts plus date but the avatar is still cut in half. I guess I could settle with that.
