The Field Test Program has been replaced by StuffStuff. By being a North American Fishing Club member, you get access to this separate site dedicated to testing products for free. To register, all you have to do is follow the simple instructions on the screen after clicking the Register button below. You'll be able to pick and choose the stuff you want to apply to test.

If you have an active product test profile for the old Field Test Program on FishingClub.com, you will still need to register with StuffStuff to get your product test benefit from the North American Fishing Club, as the Field Test profiles are no longer active.

Please read our FAQ's on our new product test program, StuffStuff.

GOOD THING I CHECKED MY PRODUCT TEST PROFILE!! THE NAFC CHANGED THIS AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO TELL ANY OF US MEMBERS! I GUESS THEY REALLY DON'T WANT US TESTING AND GETTING FREE STUFF AFTER ALL! FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN THE PRODUCTS THAT ARE AVAILABLE TO TEST ARE JUST CHEAP JUNK. NOT NICE TO DO TO YOUR MEMBERS NAFC!

Thanks for the heads up. They'd probably get around to announcing it - in a couple of months. Kind of a Royal P.I.T.A. to set up, but may actually be a better process in the long run. Be sure to check out the hunting section too - seems like their "stuff" is a little better. (The MRE sandwiches looks like a gimme item).
You should see the new rod and reel I got for my wife. I feel like it was a pretty good trade.

I guess the real issue I have is that the members were not even informed that their original Product Test Profiles were no longer active or valid.  As it states above:  If you have an active product test profile for the old Field Test Program on FishingClub.com, you will still need to register with StuffStuff to get your product test benefit from the North American Fishing Club, as the Field Test profiles are no longer active  This potentially means that a member could be sitting around for months or years waiting for a product and not even know they are no longer enrolled.  Imagine how many members will now never get a test product unless they check their profiles or read this topic.  I don't expect to get free stuff every week, i'm not THAT guy you see on the forums who expects a bass boat,I just think we should have been informed in some way via email or a topic post from the higher ups.

Yeah, tell me about it!  Now you have to "earn points" in order to get a test product!   Maybe it will be better. I guess we will see.

Seems like too many changes. Something must be happening with the club to cause this.

I joined just a few days before they switched and they were still using the the field testing program as bait. They obviously knew that it was on its way out already at the time and did it anyway. I probably still would have joined for the forums and magazine anyway. The real disappointment is that they continued to shamelessly use it to get new members even after it was essentially dead. Needless to say, I'm glad that I did not sign up for a life membership or anything given the mostly empty forums and somewhat low satisfaction of other members. I will give it a two year shot and see if I feel like continuing after that.

No probem! I could have been a jerk and not said anything but I wanted everyone to know what was going on.  We should all be eligible and recieve some test products after all the money we have paid into being Life Members. I mean it was $300.00! And they advertise and practically promise you free stuff so I believe they need to start delivering on their promises instead of consistently short changing their members.

First, Web Guy Greg was let go, the only person that actually helped us members, then Steve Pennaz was axed (Thank God actually he sucked), and now, the product testing has been downgraded or "outsourced" to another site.  What's next? Will they ask us to return our Life Member rod and reels?...

    Dear Valued NAFC Members,

We understand that there are some questions and/or concerns in regards to our new product testing program, therefore we wanted to hopefully address some of the questions and concerns that you may have.

NAFC officially switched the Field Testing Program to be powered by StuffStuff last week, which was the week of July 16th. We began to send out staggered emails to all of the members we have emails for at that time as well. If you haven’t gotten your email invitation yet, you will, please be patient. The reason why we are staggering the emails is that we don’t want to overload the site with a bunch of users at once and have it crash. In addition, StuffStuff wants to ensure prompt responses to all questions in a timely manner. You are not required to get the email before you can join, so everyone come on in and join StuffStuff at their convenience.

The reason why we made the switch is that we received negative feedback from our members regarding the Field Test program, so we put a group of dedicated club employees to work solely on improving the product test benefit. After listening closely to you, our members, we have found that we were not providing products to test in a timely manner and members were receiving products that they didn’t want or couldn’t use. This resulted in manufacturers not wanting their products in the old program because they weren’t receiving the amount of feedback they needed. This new program gives manufacturers more exposure and in return, they insert more products to test in StuffStuff, which means more products for you to test.

In the new program, you get to tell us what products you are interested in testing. Since StuffStuff is still in the process of launching this area of interest on the site, more products will be added to fishing channel as it gets underway. Another exciting thing about StuffStuff is that you get to test products in all interest areas on the site. Currently there is Fishing and Hunting, and more will be added in the future, such as DIY & Home, Cooking and more. To help you navigate the site, check out www.stuffstuff.com/faq and the tour video located at http://www.stuffstuff.com/Video.aspx or if you need assistance with how to register, you can follow this step-by-step guide:

    http://www.stuffstuff.com/Portals/0...shing.pdf.

If you have any questions on how to use StuffStuff, there is a team of StuffStuff support ready to help you. You can contact them 3 ways:

    1. Email at support@stuffstuff.com
    2. After you have a StuffStuff account, log in to www.stuffstuff.com and click on the orange feedback & support tab on the right edge of your screen
    3. Private message StuffStuff on Facebook (www.facebook.com/stuffstuff).

We hope you will take advantage of the new program and enjoy it much more than the old program.

I have actually come to like this new system for testing products.  Like it says above, with the old system people were getting stuff that they didn't or couldn't even use.  At least with the new StuffStuff you can earn points and CHOOSE from the items you would like to test.  Items that actually match your fishing and hunting needs. I guess now we will see how long it takes to actually get a product.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but you can test the level 1 ready to eat sandwiches without any points being deducted. It is a good way to earn points for writing a review without losing points for being selected. I was already selected to test them. They may not be the most exciting thing, but you can get 11 points for writing a review of them plus extra points for pictures.

Yeah, I saw those.  I was not interested in testing those.  I want a product I will actually use in the field and I just don't think I would ever use those.

I'm not too into them either, but I'm only level one so I will earn points any way I can. I don't know if you have looked at the level one products, but they are not that great. I need to at least get to level two and the sandwiches will get me there.

What, you didn't want to test the ring knives?  Ha ha and yeah the level 1 products aren't that great but i will tell you I am a level 6 tester and the products don't improve as much as you think.  It all depends on if they match your profile from what i've seen.  Because I am a level 6 and there are still some products I am not eligble to test.

I would rather try to clean a fish using only my fingernail than put on the ring knife and use it. I would even rather test that glorified piece of plastic that you put old fishing line in (I thought the garbage can had already been tested). I am looking forward to stuffstuff getting more fishing items to test. The hunting section was already around for a while before the fishing section was launched which is why there are more hunting items to test than fishing items. I'm not going to be too concerned about it though. I will just use the club for the forums and the magazine, and anything that I get to test is just a bonus. After looking at how it works and everything, I really don't think stuffstuff will be a bad way to run the field testing program.

Hmm. Mine works just fine. But for some reason the site isn't letting me enter the Click and Win or the Gear Giveaway. It just says, Sorry, there seems to be an issue submitting your entry, please try again later. (cntst-9003)  Maybe there is some kind of bug on the site today or something. Wouldn't surprise me!

I can't see the links or anything while I am using Firefox.
However, if I use Internet Explorer, it all shows up fine.

This has only happened since the last 'improvement' to the site.

Has anyone else recieved an email from Stuffstuff saying they've been selected to test a product? Seems like that certainly didn't take long.

No, but I just checked my StuffStuff and I had applied to test a crossbow about 2 weeks ago and now its no longer on my list of items I selected to test. It was removed by StuffStuff and now it says i'm NOT eligible to test it.  That doesn't really seem fair to me...

Well...I got the email today saying I was selected to test two items...some braided fishing line and a rifle scope. I checked my StuffStuff dashboard, and it only lists the fishing line! Also, I noticed that my "points" has been reduced to 8, so who knows? The club continues to leave me in a state of confusion.

How do I earn StuffStuff points?
You can earn points by completing various activities in StuffStuff. Earn them by simply setting up your account:

Complete your Interest Profile (5 points)
Registering from a NAMG website, such as North American Hunting Club
    Official Members = 5 points
    Life Members = 20 points
Trophy & Premier Life Members = 40 points
Connecting your account to Facebook (3 points)
Connecting your account to Twitter (2 points)
Write a review for a product you already own or used - No need to test via StuffStuff to write reviews (1 point)

    3. Earn them after you test a product by completing your Post Test Review:

Complete the required Post Test Report:
    Level 1 = 11 points
    Level 2 = 25 points
    Level 3 = 45 points
    Level 4 = 80 points
    Level 5 = 113 points
    Level 6 = 140 points
Write a Product Review and post to StuffStuff - Earn bonus points for photos included in the review! (3-6 points possible - depending on level)
Earn bonus points for photos included in the review (3-6 points possible - depending on level)
Interact on Facebook and Twitter about the product via Social Sharing (2-4 points per action - depending on level)
Post comments and reviews on other sites and record the URL (4-8 points per approved post - depending on level - and there is a max of 10 uploads)

So I wounder how the face book thing works  dose it mean share on stuffstuffs wall or can you share on nafc wall, a friends wall, and your own wall.
then if you post a comment and review on NAFC web sight or other forums and include a few pics of the product and copy the url   you could rack the points up pretty fast just off one product .

You can only get points for one product not multiple points for one product. For instance, you can only "Tweet" and "Like" a product ONE time for the points.

I actually like it.  Members are already getting field test items (fishing line, MRE's, A rifle scope) and StuufStuff has only been operational for a month.  I would say that's an improvement.  I already have 270 points on StuffStuff so i'm hoping to get some decent test products!

Stuffstuff has been very good to me so far. I just finished my first product reveiw at midnight pacific time last night and was already selected to test another product when I checked my email this morning. For those of you who are stuck on a low level, the Bridgeford sandwich is worth applying for as it will give you a quick points boost. I started out with 5 points as an annual member and I have already moved up to level three (51 points before the deduction for my next test product) just from filling out the questionnaires, linking to facebook and twitter, and testing the sandwich. The sandwich by itself gave me 31 points as there was no point deduction for being selected to test it.

i'd like to toss my 2 cents into the mix. haven't posted much but i read like the dickens. i've signed up for the stuffstuff/nafc/nahc testing program. i've done this under the auspices of the nafc and the nahc which i have just recently joined. i must admit that within 30 days i had both my sandwich and an odor control product for hunting. now i don't know if my experience is commonplace or not, however, i do want some of those who are feeling a bit unsure of the stuffstuff/nafc/nahc site and the process, it does seem to work. at least it is a start on a journey who knows where it may lead. if you have/take the time to work with the system stuffstuff/nafc/nahc have put in place, it will hopefully develop into a worthy progam.

the products i received were both shipped under the stuffstuff/nahc label. nothing from the stuffstuff/nafc label. this is my first year as a nahc member, my 4th as trophy (yeah, had more money than sense back then, i don't own a boat. a friend does who takes me out once in a while. go figure.) i recall the hooks, a multi-purpose tool etc and so forth. i didn't join for the goodies, (well the rod w/my name was pretty cool!). i signed up for the sense of community and a source of knowledge that i didn't have. it's been fun to watch the evolution of the industry and how current technology effects the sport, including the social media changes that this has brought. we'll see what happens with the testing program adopted by the nafc/nahc. it'll be a test for all three entities, the nafc, nahc, and the stuffstuff concept. time will tell what grades they get.

have fun fishing. fish for the future.

First of all I don't like this program and wish the Club would go back to it's old way of doing things. First the Stuff Stuff system is sparse for testing real things like the club did. Secondly, the picking and choosing of who for what seems extremely slow. Lastly, the items to be tested seem rinky-dinky, I just wish the Powers-that-Be would consider going back to the old way. Even though I waited on the products for a while to test, they seemed more worth testing than this "stuff" is.
Sorry NAFC/StuffStuff thats my opinion, feels like we lost a great benefit here when StuffStuff took over. I will probably be canceling my account with StuffStuff. Hope we don't loose anymore benefits to "Guys with great ideas".

By all means! I encourage everyone to boycott StuffStuff. That way I'll keep getting selected for all the stuff. I've already tested two items since StuffStuff started.
If you're just applying for the high-end items, you're going to be waiting for a long time.

Well I can't say anything. I started to sign up with them, but it seemed like they wanted more info about me than I was willing to give. So, I only read what's going on, and kinda glad I didn't sign up.

Also, this month, I received the NAFC magazine in digital format. How great...NOT! Just seems like it is anything to cheapen my life membership. Oh well, I don't visit here much any more any way. Not since outdoor fishing has opened up.

Have a great day today, and a better one tomorrow!
