Does anyone know if rod socks protect the eyes on a fishing rod? It seems to me that it would not. If anyone has used them or knows anything about them, I would be interested in knowing more. Thanks.

i had a rod snap in two in a rod sock when i knelt in the back of the vehicle so i would say only to a degree . put the rod in a sock then slide it in a tube or case.
Take a kid fishing , If the fish aint biting entertain them.

Rod socks do a great job of protecting rods- from dust and dirt! A sturdy rod tube is the best(but not perfect) way to protect a rod from damage. Tom

I use a rod sock here and there. Mainly just for the expensive rods.
