 The best thing I have found for wacky rigging is the Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap. A 2/0 seems to work good with 5 to 6 inch stick worms. Around here...they are available just about everywhere...so they shouldn't be hard for you to find. A comment on hook brands. While there are many brands of hooks available, all too often new hooks out of the package often are not very sharp. The big advantage to Gamakatsu is that they are almost universally available at a reasonable price and I have yet to open a package to find a dull one.

Thanks mo and pegsguy, I use that same hook mo that you have in the pic. We just seem to be missing alot of hook sets as of lately. I need to make sure that they are sharpe ....THANKS GUY'S ......................JOHN

  Like Tom said...those Gamas seem to always be sharp...I have a feeling your trouble might be something that I have ran into here also. As that wacky worm flutters to the bottom, panfish love to pick and peck at them. Generally, when a bass grabs a wacky worm rigged with a hook like we're using, he's hooked.

Another suggestion is to place an O ring around the worm and run the hook under it instead of through the worm if you are not already doing this. Mo is right, you are probably experiencing panfish pecks on the way down.
