I was wondering what people consider the best charts for the new HDS Lowrance, what is the best bang for the buck as it were? I am using Navionics Gold right now and would like some feed back. 
   Also, Navionics has some updates for their new HdS units however I am a little leary about installing them, the last time I installed an update for my old unit it burned it out and was basically a very light anchor! Any ideas?

I have an older LEI unit and use a Fishing Hot Spots map on that, but the mapping thing has gotten a bit more complicated of late.I have heard that one of the mapmakers has been bought out by Humminbird and they will not support LEI apps in the future. Another member here has a newer LEI handheld ( same mapping software) and has not had the same satisfaction I have with FHS. Another member who isn't around very much any more due to problems with this site has a HDS 7 unit, but he is a salt guy and just uses the lake insight that is pre programed. If you PM me, I might be able to give you some more info. FYI. LEI is Lowrance/Eagle.
