I"v been trying to catch snapping turtles with no luck. So far I have used chicken liver an cheezy hotdogs. Any ideas on some fore-sure baits ?

Question: WHY are you trying to catch snapping turtles? To eat them or for fun? And I have no idea how too. Try a nightcrawer. I have caught just regular turtles on them lots of times.
bass or bass?

Snappers eat fish. Use fish for bait.

Put a Bluegill on a stringer and hang it off the side of a dock or peg it to the shore (while having the fish still in the water). Wait in ambush with your net until one takes interest in the fish. It shouldn't take long!

We used to catch them with a rod and real every now and then well fishing minnows . you can also try walking along roads with water near by and if you find one get them to bite on a stick and carry it that way as it is not the safest to carry them by the tail as they have a pretty long neck and powerful jaws.
Take a kid fishing , If the fish aint biting entertain them.
