I'm still debating on getting the trolling motor or fishfinder first. I can only get 1 right now and it's either one or the other. I was looking at the lowrance hds-5 fishfinder/gps combo for $799.99. The trolling motor is a minn Kota terrova with ipilot for $1199.99. It's both about 14 years old on that boat. Now any suggestion? Remember only get 1 out of the 2 right now

I would probably go with the depth finder gps unit and here is why . you can mark fish on it and it will help you navigate so you don't damage your boat and you can add a lake map feature and find more places to fish . the trolling motor is nice too but you could drift or use the other motor just not as quite or convenient.
Take a kid fishing , If the fish aint biting entertain them.
