Looks like the top one was probably a victim of some kind of lice or maybe a lamprey, did you see any scarring? The middle one looks like an animal got it, and the third one was probably field dressed like you said. Just inferring from the pics, though, either way, it is really freaky. |

Boy that is strange! Looks to me to be three different species but it is hard with the second two. The third pic looks like someone filleted a fish and just left the carcass, the other two not so. Looks like some unethical fisherman in your area to me! Tom |

Maybe a novice, ignorant fisherman perpetrated these acts? Maybe a callus fish butcher did it for his own twisted amusement? Who knows! Someone get Steve Pennaz on the phone!... |

The third pic looks like someone filleted a fish and just left the carcass, the other two not so. Looks like some unethical fisherman in your area to me! Tom The first one was a pike, the second appears to be a Walleye (what was once a rather large Walleye), and the third looks to be what was once a pretty good sized Rainbow Trout. The pike didn't appear to have any scarring or wounds (such as a lamprey wound), so it was likely some other type of parasite. That walleye was cut cleanly down the center of it's flank, which leads me to believe that it wasn't any sort of animal. The, what looks to have been, field dressed trout is what makes me the most confused. THERE AREN'T EVEN ANY TROUT IN THAT STRETCH OF THE RIVER! It's way too warm in that area to have trout. There was a few other trout carcasses on the bottom in the same area, as well. What is going on? |

The pike probably weighed a good 9 or 10 pounds. Couldn't weigh the walleye, for obvious reasons. By the looks of it, the Walleye was probably once a trophy sized fish. |

first could be a virus, second could be cut bait or cut by a prop or animal. third could be used to bait a trap . or chum an area or bey some on who just tossed the Caracas. It really is hard to say . |
|
Take a kid fishing , If the fish aint biting entertain them. |

lets take the easy one 1st. --- the trout was caught some place and after being cleaned, by whom ever, dump the carcass. thats a gimme just by looking at the pics. the walleye can be 1 of 2 things as my guess --- by chance do you have any river otters in the area that you know of? they do eat any fish they catch for some reason head 1st. -- at least the otters that i have watch here in ohio seem to do. the 2nd guess about the eye is someone wanted a head mount only and cut the fish in two about 3" behind the gills. now for the pike -- it looks to me that it dies around the time of the spawn for pike. so my guess would be the stress of spawning killed her. |
