The last few years I've been on a really bad streak. That is to say, the only keeper I've caught was a brook trout up in Yosemite about 2 years ago. Used to be that I did pretty well fishing, and about 6 years ago I had a blast fishing Lake Powell and caught some nice sized walleye, stripers and blue cats. Given that historically I've done well fishing, I have to chalk up my lack of catches to inexperience with the waters I am fishing. I can't think of any other possible reason!

Anyway, I am headed to Lake Pillsbury for 4 days (the first week of May). I'm looking for some advice from anyone who's fished it, as I need to break this losing streak! Ideally, I'd like to do some largemouth and trout fishing, and I am guessing that the bass spawn may be going full bore then. Temps look like they will be in the upper 70s during the day, albeit partly cloudy.

I have a FoldCat, so I can tool anywhere around the lake. I'm also thinking that right below the dam might be good spot for some nice brook trout.

Hook me up with your Lake Pillsbury secrets and help a guy get out of a slump!

If you're looking for a quick reply from someone, you aren't going to get one.

The forums have been practically dead for months.

Myself and a few other people are the only members that visit it anymore.

If you would have posted this thread a year ago, you would have had all kinds of replies.  Now you'll be lucky to get one.
