Hi new to the club I am looking to buy a new rod I fish mainly for bass but also northern, walleye and a few panfish when I am waiting for bass season to open. I have a Abu Garcia Vendetta 6' 3" medium rod that I love but I have not used any of the others and was wondering which one is best for what I would need. I live in minnesota so the bass I catch range from 1 pound and the state record is just under 9 pounds they average around 3 pounds. Thanks for all the help.

If you like the Vendetta rods, get yourself a longer one in the 7' or so. The reason is staying familiar with your equipment and it's easier to fine tune your technique. For some people it doesn't matter, they can just use any rod.

The Vendetta will be fine in your waters and for that sized bass. I's recommend a spinning rod & reel up to 7' long for walleye due to the different types of baits. You get more distance casting light lures.  The panfish are a whole different class of fishing, so add another rod better suited for them, much lighter action and power, longer than the other two rods.

I just bought a "Boss Hawg" rod and I love it [by Zebco].. although the reel it came with was too large for my hands.. so I switched it off with a small one I had o n my old rod..

The Boss Hawg: is 7'.. Med/Heavy.. and even though others state the same, this rod is stiffer so the tip doesn't bow- giving you more control when reeling in..

Also, the handle below/above the reel is twice as long giving better leverage and control when reeling in and resting..
It also has a small solid mounted metal loop.. to attach a security line to..

Which all together, makes it alot easier for a handicap person fishing from a wheel chair due to the lower height, and better leverage..

Was approx $30 for the rod/reel combo
