More of a fun topic then an informative topic, but I was wondering what everyone says when they get a fish on. Now I'm looking for something besides "Fish on". Example... Last year mine was "Got 'em" and this years is " Can't teach that" . My buddies and I like to find sayings besides "Fish on" when you hook up or land one. I  thought I'd see what everyone else says if anything. We have fun with it and you might too. Let me know.... BassinSig

    You can't teach that!

Depends...If it's a big fish, "Get the Net!"  If it's just a fish, "Gotta Bite!"  If it's just a little fish, "Minnow!"

For me it's ( " Well it's been a long time") , or  (" about Time") and then (" Broken the bad Luck") these are mainly wht I use! Try to not use profanity because we have families around here on the lake or pond and river!

GOOD LUCK AND GOOD FISHING!  TAKE A KID WITH YOU-YOUNG OR OLD!  Uncle Tom
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

On the strike it's "there we go!"
On the hook set it's "Fish on, baby!"
On the fight it's "Com'ere SON!
On lip it's "Oh Yeah! That's what I'm talking about!"
IF I lose it, it's an array of colorful words that I'll not post here.

    "Jumbo sized"
    "He's a fighter"
    "I got one more"
    "Got him"
    "I got another"
    "Get the net" (big)
"Get the net, lets just hope he doesn't fall through the holes" (small)

On the bite it's normally just "oh, oh come on"
The hook set has subconsciously become "There it is!!"
The fight is "oh yeah it's a nice one" with a huge grin
Out of the water is a nice big "Wooooo!"
And once my son is born and attends what comes after
losing one is gonna have to change
