Has anybody have this reel or used it, I'm also looking to get the energy rod with it.

I don't have that model, I have the Smoke with matching rod. Unbelievable, killer outfit!
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

I have not used the quantum Energy, but I can tell you that I have used a lot of Quantum's cheaper models like the Response, Burst, Gander Mt Tournament series GSX titanium reel, and the Antix. They are all great reels and all I buy now is Quantum when it comes to my reels. I can only assume that their higher end stuff like the Energy, and the KVD tournament series have to be even better!
I swear, it was this big (---------------------------------------)

I have a Quantum Energy PT 100PPT that I use for my cranking duties. I absolutely love this reel. When you get it set up correctly it never backlashes. It is also very smooth on the retrieve and also has a smooth drag. I highly recommend the Energy PT... Or the whole Quantum PT line for that matter

I have the Energy E100 SPTS (saltwater version). It's an awesome reel. I use it for light inshore fishing. It's great for fluke, flounder, porgies and seabass...It's also good for casting spoons and artificials. I have it matched with the Quantum Boca 701MH rod...excellent combo. I also use it for Bass fishing...I like equipment that can multi-task..lol
All of my equipment is Quantum...I have the Cabo 80, Cabo 40 spinning reels...The Cabo CBC 30...two of them and the CNW 30 which i use for trolling. All are matched with Cabo and Boca rods. The only freshwater reel I have from Quantum is the Array..a nice little reel that I used with my club rod...

Seems there are quite a few Quantum fans here...I don't know if any of you guys fish saltwater and have Quantums saltwater rods or reels, but this past March I was at the Sport Fishing Expo in Rockland County, NY. I spoke to a couple of Quantum reps, and they were talking about there saltwater lineup...seems there discontinueing the Cabo rods (spinning and casting) and the same with the cabo cbc 20 and 30 and cnw 20 and 30 and clw 20 and 30 and that new cnlpts 16, 20 , 30 and that came out last year! Quantum doesnt really do to well with saltwater conventional tackle. There missing a whole inshore/bottom fishing crowd that doesnt use spinning reels and needs something alittle bit stronger than there baitcasters. There thing is spinning reels and baitcasters....not everyone lives in Florida and fishes the flats...lol If they can make a reel that a cross between the cbc 30 and cnw 20...something in that range...they would do well in the north east.
